I think a lot of this, including Toby change is club politics. Our speculative signing gambles is now BITING us hard!
The Toby thing is odd, though, as I don't think the majority of Spurs supporters even know that Toby/Poch had a row. Leaking that things are OK now and he's staying would only really placate the plebes on this board (i.e. people like me).

I think Poch's presser was the most telling ITK regarding any potential movement one way or the other. This window is done I reckon. If we get to keep Toby and all is well between Poch and him, then I would consider that job done for the most part
It's not job done though, is it? We'll just be baby sitting him. Him and Poch kissing and making up only papers over the fucking huge hole that exists until the next window rolls round or someone comes sniffing and whispers him what he wants to hear.

People need to stop trying to justify not getting in at least ONE player
We are the ONLY club in the top leagues to not do so.
We have had 9 players coming back late from the World Cup
Son is off for another month.
There is no justification, and the club isn’t going to go broke.

There’s far greater chance of us losing everything if we don’t get any players, than not.

If we had signed players, they'll be more options for squad rotation without losing quality. What don't you get?

The discussion taking place is not about buying Martial. It's about selling Toby to buy Martial.

Of course I would like Martial for free and then sell no players, who wouldn't? That's extra options.

Selling one and then adding one is not extra options, sir.

Poch seems to me, to be a honest guy (dont personally know him well enough) if he says hes happy with the squad then thats enough for me

We didn't/haven't/won't sign anyone.
It's really not the end of the world that some of the complete fannies in here are making out.

I am a bit gutted that Martial couldn't be worked out. But hey ho.

I honestly believe we are still in a strong position, and I think the team will surprise a few this year.

Some of the brattish, childish, pathetic comments that litter this thread are completely embarrassing.

The one guarantee in football is that there are no guarantees.

Put it this way, we could be sitting on an absolute worldy of a player like Kane, who's path could have otherwise been blocked by a potential signing.

We haven't turned to shit overnight.

Our first 11 still beats any first 11 in the league on its day. I truly believe when we play as well as we KNOW we can, we can beat any team on the planet.

COYFS.

And for a final thought, how about keeping a can on the fucking bile and vitriol?!

Barely a single person here knows what has gone on behind the scenes. Panning Levy is a stupid fucking thing to do when you have about 3% of the information he has access to regarding the state of the club, the finances, the conversations with other chairmen etc etc.

How about not slating everything like spoilt fucking idiots. Step away from the keyboard, and go do something more useful.

The more overreaction there is to this (pretty trivial) situation, the more the media are going to prey on it the more the team gets unsettled, the more the results suffer, the lower in the league we finish.

Aren't people aware that their constant spewing of complete fucking bullshit is often a catalyst for the masses becoming aware?

Like seriously, if you want this window to be "thing" for this whole season, then go ahead. Rant, rave, act like a wanker etc etc.

But then don't moan about it when Sky, Talksport, and mainstream media WUM's are sticking the boot in throughout the season.

Because you'll have basically caused the fucking uproar yourselves. Prats.

Yes. We should have made a signing or two. But we haven't. Boo fucking hoo.

We're still Tottenham from the fucking Lane, we're still good, and we're going to dick fucking Newcastle at the weekend.

Fuck.

All very well but when you look at the players that have been available this window you surely must ask yourself why the club has not aimed to be “even better” next season!?!

That’s what annoys me, we are settling for what we have. Not even city have done this!

You were talking about fatigue. If we signed players then we'd have more bodies, of similar quality to our first team, to rotate in and out the team. This would give the world cup players rest, with only a marginal drop in quality.

But surely this window any signing we made would have been a speculative gamble, because the finished product that is good enough for our first team is worth £75m+.
With that last bit in mind, I feel the armwrestling/poker game between Utd and us regarding Martial - Toby went on for too long. Should've moved on earlier in my opinion.

Not asking the itk but more the general fault, I'm guessing herc means that because we multiple targets for multiple positions depending where the chips laid, we've ended up fucking all of them?

Agree and disagree.

I assume the suggestion is not shifting GKN, LLorente and Sissoko has hurt our ability to push for incomings.

We couldn't even attract buyers for 3 World Cup semi-finalists we were actively trying to sell. I highly doubt we would ever have received anything better than loan offers for those regardless of when the window closed, so to drag everything out for no tangible gain seems just as reckless.

It HAS to be money IMHO, more specifically a lack of it.
