The only lesson learned is "We never learn from our mistakes"

Probably needs rephrasing, We know our mistakes, im sure many of the staff and internal structure know our mistakes but Levy will do what Levy wants to do. He may acknowledge things , but Levy will continue to do what he has always done

I knew 3 wins and top of the table would influence Levy to not pull the trigger for more attacking reinforcements.

Passed last time we were in a position of strength.

Just a few months ago we sacked a manager (who had to go at some point) who has a history of winning things the week before a cup final and replaced him with a complete novice, not just in managerial terms but in any terms above being a player.

Following this sacking we spent months trying to find the right manager, going all around the houses both in terms of experience and style, only to land (a few weeks before the transfer window was about to open) on a guy that was sacked by wolves. (I know, I know, we have to give him time but that’s not the point).

This place and Tottenham as a football club had a big dark cloud hanging over it and tempers and emotions (or lack there of which was often now the case) we’re running high.

The fact that following all of this that because of a new director of football and a nice bit of positive ITK (which I’m sure was all correct at the time it was received and shared) any of you thought that there was going to be positive change and all of a sudden we were going to start addressing the issues that had been in the squad for a long time absolutely beggars belief.

Please tell me why any of you thought it would be different this year?

The only actual position we’ve improved is at right back, everywhere else has either got weaker or stayed the same.

Classic classic tottenham and classic classic levy.
They said the stadium is a game changer though. Hopefully next summer Fabio will have a proper transfer budget and we can kick on properly with no excuses

Off topic but Sky Sports just Introduced Sam Allardyce as "the former England manager".

The former England manager who had 1 game in charge and got booted out for corruption ?

I’m really confused by this latest update by Hercs. This is not me questioning it by the way, I’m just really confused.

Everyone from Ally Gold, Dan KP, Trix, Hercs etc… have all been saying DL is out of the picture and he’s letting Paratici run with it (within a budget) But it’s only today that we hear he hasn’t left him to it? Or was it just the Traore deal he interfered with?

I thought Paratici had loads of plates spinning? If he had loads of plates spinning why wasn’t back up forwards identified other than Martinez and Vlahovic?

Why has it taken until the last week of the window to identify Traore?

I’m genuinely confused by all of it if I’m honest?

same old same old then. sigh.

shame we can't transfer levy out. amazing businessman but will always be too risk averse for us to take the final step as a football presence ON THE PITCH. Shame he will never see that it's the key to everything.

On to january where no doubt we'll go through the same old shit yet again. positive noises followed by the inevitable disappointment.

The thing about Traore is that he's gettable now while at Wolves and won't be soon enough when he's at Liverpool or Arsenal or the ilk. And that's ok if you dont think he's good enough. But I don't see an argument against the idea that he can change games on his own, that he has a unique skill set that provides an option other teams dont have.

And the other thing is the four right backs again. Is it enough? Could we not snag a fifth and try to shoehorn all of them into a team half filled with fucking right backs

I would have preferred a little more action in the market, but I am happy we have cleared the decks of some deadwood and not filled the team with some second rate cheap deals.

We hired a manager to develop youth and get a tune out of our under performers, now let's make it happen.

Pretty much every manager had the same issues though where we, at best, bought some of what they asked for but left ourselve

He is all about the cash flow and lets face it, CL is big money as well as boosting the value of stadium naming rights etc. This is why Levy is focused on the more realistic qualification to CL rather than the tought Premier League champions:

  • Play-off round: €5,000,000
  • Base fee for group stage: €15,640,000
  • Group match victory: €2,800,000
  • Group match draw: €900,000
  • Round of 16: €9,600,000
  • Quarter-finals: €10,600,000
  • Semi-finals: €12,500,000
  • Runner-ups: €15,500,000
  • Champions: €20,000,000

It's not even that, it's all the commerical deals (stadium naming, etc) that rely on us being a CL club.

Probably because the Traore deal didn't fall within the budget.

Hey ho,We’ve had worse and we’ve had better transfer windows, this one is by no means a disaster.

We needed a striker but we’re going to have to rely on 17 year old Dane Scarlett at some point so let’s hope he is the real deal.

However very good improvements in the defence area. Rome wasn’t built in a day and all that

Anyway top of the league and up the yids.

Enjoy the last 2 hours everyone, im
Off ??

What’s funny is we have only scored 3 goals. For all the riches that Levy thinks we have, we are not getting a bag load.

The whole thing is s cheap piss-take. This is ALL on Daniel Levy!?

All summer our remit was priority defence and a striker! Midfielder if we moved one or two. Don’t blame Paratici. This is totally and utterly ALL on Daniel Levy. There is no disputing and arguments to defend him here. In total creatively (thanks to Para) we done good business. We fecked up over a forward, because he sees things differently. Pee off!
Seems like Levy will never learn :banghead:

So Traore too expensive? If he contributed a lot to us getting top 4...would he be deemed to expensive in retrospect?

No chance.

Honestly think he would of been the difference for us this season.

Same old shit. Lessons have been learnt, its a buyers market across Europe, Levy is not interfering with transfer dealings.

Its fucking mindboggling that yet again we fail to sign a back up for Harry. No creative midfielder will hamper us across the course of the season as well.

One very good CB and a bunch of promising young players is not enough to compete for top four.
