Come on guys, don't throw in the towel just yet. Just because ITK are quiet doesn't mean nothing will happen. Levy may just have to bite the bullet and pay more than he might want, but he needs a statement signing. Lets hope for a busy day tomorrow.
I agree. Far too early to start singing Kumbaya yet. Our fat lady ain't ready! ;)

I appreciate that this is stretching back either to January or last summer, but I do recall one of the ITKs saying that Levy enjoys deadline day and plays up to his reputation a bit with agents/staff - albeit probably moreso when there's nothing much riding on whether he does or does not get a random squad player out of it.

I remain of the view that there'll be movement tomorrow. If we buy into the reports we've had, then we're pushing for deals to be complete - but there has to be agreement between both clubs, the player and their agent(s). Everyone gets a bit giddy on deadline day, and if PL clubs are a bit desperate to get players in, then equally non-PL clubs know that their biggest market is about to close.

Whichever way it goes, in 18 hours it's done... except for 3 weeks of hawking 3 or more unregistered players around the other clubs, of course. Not sure that'll keep the traffic levels around here quite so high.

Love your optimism. Let’s hope all the ITKS are on strict lockdown because of what is brewing tomorrow.

Why is it bonkers? People who have been on this forum long enough know how this plays out from here...

We needed to strengthen. We wont. Every fan has the right to be disappointed with that.
Did I imply anything which differs from what your exclaiming, or are you just looking to cause aggro? I didn’t say anything other than it’s nuts in here, it is!

Everything is getting rather silly on here to be fair.

Signing someone or plural is not the be all and end all. It's general progression that's important.

We are far from perfect, but each year we are getting closer.

The nucleus is there, and it's finding the right blend over the next few years to complete the jigsaw gradually in the right way.

Daniel Levy is hugely frustrating at times, supported by many other chairmen confirming how difficult he is to deal with. But he is a businessman, and a good businessman. And let's not forget, a Spurs supporter too, so a bit of a juggling act there.

It is plainly obvious to see that everything has been planned to play a game of high risk poker on deadline day. Players who were 15m not that long ago are being sold for 4 times that amount when purchasing earlier. So I see it that it is a case of spend the early part of the transfer window getting everything in place, and then choosing where to fire on the final day. And then in addition on the final day, there is always the chance of a gem, or maybe a dud, but that's the risk.

Daniel Levy was supporting the B Team in the US recently, and that is not the sign of someone desperate to get work done early.

In my view, there is a plan, and that is to carry out extensive planning in readiness for a deadline day battle, in the face of a very difficult and challenging transfer window. In fact, I expect a similar approach to be taken next summer too.

People may belittle the ITK but they have said things will be left late. As an example, and I can't be bothered to go back and find the exact quote, but I remember distinctly ValenciaYid saying things will go to the last day, and how right he was.

Let's be honest, we will sign at least one player tomorrow. But this is still all part of the grand plan over the next few years. Just chill and enjoy the ride. We're in safe hands!

Ok Donna

with the window closing so early 2mo too i think its safe to say we will be lucky to get 1 signing let alone 2 as we earlier thought this week
saw somewhere that tomorrow is just a «soft» deadline. We can still loan players with permanent agreement in January until end of August...Heard anything on that?

If we sign no one (as is looking more likely by the minute) I wonder how our players will view that?

Reeks of lack of ambition to me.

Alternatively. The team with world class players and top class backup in each position, so didn't need to buy anyone.

That's not the point - they chose to sign someone, and it took them a year to do it despite multiple attempts and much better finances than they team the took him from.

We have finally reached the top 4, but too late for it to have the same persuasion it held 10 years ago. Crystal Palace don't 'need' £60m, Aston Villa, a league below, don't appear to 'need' £25m. It's clear that money only buys players if you pay over and above valuations. Some clubs will only sell if the fees get ridiculous (seen reports than villa told us to 'double' our £25m offer).

The market has generally involved a small amount of transfers for a large amount of money - I mean, two keepers you wouldn't put in the known top 5 in the world have just been bought for £66m and £71m. It's daft.

All the ITK points towards the fact that we are willing to do deals and trying to do them, but it would seem that money isn't an object any more for anyone in the PL. All I can say is that at least we're not a team saying "no" to huge money whilst still training out of old buildings and seating 20,000 in old stadiums, even if that's of little comfort to the masses.

I still would be blown over if we didn't get some fresh legs in tomorrow, though.

We are not signing anyone, that is hard enough to accept. But if we also let Rose, Toby and/or Dembele go too then I am totally lost on what we were even trying to achieve this window.

This place has officially gone nuts. I have been on this since some of you were still in primary school and I think this is the maddest SC has ever been. Totally bat shit bonkers!

Each player thread in the transfer forum is being fitted with padded walls while straight jackets & helmets are being handed out. Highly recommended for many here.

Anyone else feel like this is a dream? Like, I cannot actually believe we haven't signed a player, or are even close to signing a player, with just over 17 hours to go until the deadline.

Do you think Levy has gone to bed now? I bet he’s sleeping like a baby. Still we’re all up thinking something could happen.
