Chavski must have about 20 non-HG players they can't register, so they loan them out.

There is no insurmountable issue with having a couple of players like VJ and GKN who aren't registered for our CL & PL squads.

on sending them out on loan after our window closes: Hopefully but window closing early puts us in bad situation.

on HG situation:GNK and VJ will not be registered it is if we add to that we have to leave others out, as i said Pochs priority is elsewhere at the minute.

on getting rid: Clubs abroad are hoping to get them for virtually nothing.

Janssen, GKN, Llorente just long them off to anyone that takes them, be it loan or permanent.

It really makes the extension of Vorm and the signing of Gazzaniga even more bewlidering now. Other teams like Man U &a Chelsea have used one of their HG slots for a 3rd choice keeper, that's the smart thing to do surely.

Looks like some really shortsighted mistakes are going to bite us in the arse unless we wipe our mouth of some of them or stop trying to save face

Why can’t we just cut our losses on these players, I know we won’t get near our valuations of them but isn’t it worth it for a player 10x better?
Hint: this is not FM or FIFA

In the real world - particularly Joe Lewis' world - millions of dollars in player losses matter - a lot!

Surely including Martial in any deal for Toby would mean 1 non-HG replacing 1 non-HG, so no net change on HG quota?

Seems odd we’d say no.

I thought we had settled VJ? What a strange move. He didn’t even come back to the club.

Amazing. A chance to sign someone who would improve the squad and probably first 11 but screwed because of shite signings made over the last few years.

Ironically made a couple of those signings because we keep refusing to push the boat out and get Zaha - and it looks like the exact same thing is happening this window.

Non homegrown targets elsewhere is the key...that slot may be used on a different target.

And this is where going for plan B / plan C options gets you, can't shift them on and we're bloated on non HG players. Can see the difficulty on shifting them on, but maybe taking a hit there to know we have a plan A forward means we're not trying to juggle the squad again next summer. Llorente, Nkoudou, Janssen, take a hit and loan to buy options, even if it's a bit lower. Shouldn't have renewed Vorm's deal, I know he's a quality keeper, but 3 non HG keepers restricts us elsewhere.
I'm still hoping for Grealish, Martial/Zaha and a DM. Grealish for example, even if that doesn't work, his HG status makes him attractive as the quota goes up next summer.

I'm taking the recent ITK regarding Martial with a huge pinch of salt but if we assume it's true we must be looking at a very expensive non-homegrowm CM. If Levy and Pochettino prioritize the 60m over Martial that's the only way I can interpret it.

Completely nuts. It’s still funny but Rob Green to the chavs isn’t as mad as originally thought.

We don't need to have both Gazzaniga and Vorm - third choice goalkeeper should be one of the keepers from the development squad.

more from ali: It's not that he does not want Martial but we have more urgent priorities in Poch's eyes and with 2 cm injured and 1 having constant injuries it it is easy to see where.

Hang on... Isn't Toby non-HG?!!
In which case it's one for one isn't it, or is it because one is a defender and the other three useless ***** are forwards

If we have a chance of getting Martial as part of the Alderweireld deal and turn it down cos of non HG players, then something's really really wrong.

Our first team is so strong, it's really hard to manage to strengthen it further with real top class players at the right age. Martial would definitely 100% strengthen it. A real striker back up for Kane and the proper 'scary' dynamic attacking winger/wide attacker we need.

I'm sure we can loan out a couple of non HGs to cover their wages and promote some of our exciting youngsters instead.
