Already a slip up in oldboy yid's story; his dad's English not his mum.

Another possible slip, I'm presuming that as with the earlier KJH photo that they were also with Qatar airlines for this part of the journey and Oldboy said " I saw the entire Schalke team had been sitting right behind me. they were on their way to Qatar" . The earlier photo shows QA's business class seats and I'm presuming any other part of their journey is also going to be in business class, if so Qatar Airlines business (first) class seats are always at the front of the plane and every time I've flown with them (about 75% of all flights I've taken) the business class passengers have always been first off and from the front of the plane as well so unless he was also traveling Business class and had the very front seats he would not have seen the whole team behind him.

I'm neither excited or down about the prospect of him joining, because to be perfectly honest I don't really follow German football and hadn't heard of him until he was linked with us. There does seem to be a few mixed comments about how good he is though, which isn't exactly encouraging.
Indeed. He's a young player though. I mentioned Modric earlier on in the thread. Not as comparison of their talents or postential etc. Different types of players, imo. But Modric was far from a guaranteed superstar either at the time. We are talking about a German international here. Not a nation with a particularly weak player pool after all. He's got a little something about him. Still doesnt mean he'll be a success here though, I grant you. Even so, DL will be able to get a few million for him. Absolute worse case scenario here is that THFC makes a tidy profit. That is the the downside if there's any truth to this deal. I can live with that.

Germany as a national team are about 10 times better than England, and he's good enough to play for them. That's good enough for me.

:)

I assumed that the photo was on the long haul flight rather than the one he met them on??

Olderyid is a longstanding and respected member on COYS. Although his son got the Zokora info 100% right this is the first time the father has had his own ITK. Doubt away that is your right but hopefully when the deal is announced you will give Olderyid the credit he deserves.

He met them on a Lufthansa flight to Munich. I assume Schalke had to fly to Munich to catch a flight to Qatar?

Well we had a few laughs at the son's expense when the Zoko-pops information came out. But he's now revered as the benchmark of all ITK. We do give credit where credit is earned.

No idea how they've clung on so long. Just shows how mint the rest of the squad are that they can carry two large footballing warts with little ill effect.

Olderyid saw them on a domestic lufthansa flight to Munich (as he said in his earlier post), not a QA flight. Just to cover that one off.

Think they were on a flight to Munich from elsewhere and needed to connect; schalke to Qatar and Olderyid to Romania. Or did I get that part wrong?

I remember that day well. Logging on, wondering if there would be a thousand paragraph PM from one of the mods over the improper use of a semi colon a month earlier and how more was expected of me as a member of such an illustrious forum, and bam. This exclamation marked post pops up. Faazends of "yeah, yeah", "ban this bullshitter" posts and 3 hrs later, he throws down and posts the picture.

Beautiful.
