We know about Eze, and said already we are in for him etc. RM always been throwing scenarios to us, for them not to happen. My opinion is I cannot see Bale happening due to many factors. KWP has many suitors, and we are prepared to preferrably sell him. Ferguson already mentioned I think. Quite a few clubs in for him, so not easy to do, plus where WBA are in the league. And when I last heard they rather gamble loosing the money as they will gain more when promoted (meaning them being promoted). The CH in Italy (name slips me) is JM top target in that department, but Dias (if name spelt right, is on the list. Also we spoke to RM about their French CH. we are open to moving Lamela on.
I'm up for moving Lamela on. He just cannot be trusted to play a part.

But we CANNOT just move players on without developing the squad with acquisitions. The fact its January is not a good enough reason.

Even the players who are not first team regulars for them seem to be reluctant to move from there.

If you know the manager is never more than a season away from being sacked, why not sit out and wait for someone new to come along to see if your chances of being picked improve?

Been here so many times I aren't even gonna get optimistic about this window. If something happens then and it's a big deal then I will firmly believe things may change but otherwise am expecting outs and zero decent ins

Exactly, would be a repeat of the Dembele situation which was not ideal.

I feel like we haven't heard from Dragon in years, but holy crap that is a doozy of a statement. It goes a bit against the consensus we've been hearing before.

Given the timing of the bits of information, it could be that recent results and fixtures have finally made the club realize investment is absolutely imperative this month if we're to get top 4 again.

Like most of us I’m pessimistic about this window but there’s always that little flickering hope that keeps flickering for about 31 days...

Love the idea of bringing in Nathan Ferguson, even if he is a bit raw and not ready to step in as first choice.

We could really use additional squad depth at both fullback positions. Foyth is not being used there as Poch had planned, KWP is potentially on his way out of the club, Davies is a long way from returning from injury, Rose has seemingly been marginalized by Jose, Vertonghen's lack of any pace is too exposed as a FB, and Sessegnon has not been deemed ready yet. But at the same time it doesn't make a great deal of sense for us to spend on an out-and-out LB given that we've just extended Davies' contract and have got an extremely talented young player lined up as a long-term option at that position already.

Ferguson's appearances have been split 50/50 this season between LB and RB. He'd give us a player to compete with Aurier and provide additional cover on the left. At best, he'd impress the coaching staff with his potential and perhaps make it so that we don't need to spend big on a RB in the summer. At worst, he'd provide a badly needed squad option, allowing us to wait until summer to sell and replace Aurier with someone like Max Aarons. Hope it comes off.

For me sacking Poch and getting Jose was a statement to attain top 4

Which means top 4 is a priority.

If Top 4 s a priority

Jose will be given the required tools (within reason).

The Napoli CB would be awesome, extremely imposing CB and would hit the ground running here imo.

We need a more commanding presence at the back and although he's 29 himself we could get four very good seasons out of him.

He's the experience and quality to make an immediate impact. We don't have time for another transitional season next year.

I know VVD was younger, but people laughed at Liverpool paying so much for him and he absolutely transformed that team. Like you say, we could get 4-5 seasons out of him. It could easily be worth it if he has the same effect.

Been here so many times I aren't even gonna get optimistic about this window.

You will. It is the history of the Tottenham ... fan.

So we are selling one FB and looking to move on another. That's got to be Rose and KWP.
As for the loan player that's just come back. We've recalled Clarke, CCV as well as Georgiou. CCV has had a lot of suitors so wouldn't suprise me if he is in fact the player going.

Trust me I won't be getting optimistic until I get told concrete ITK things are happening

There's history...

When 'Arry took over from Ramos, Levy clearly made survival a priority.

In the January window, he uncharacteristically loosened the purse strings, buying 4 players (Keane, Defoe, Palacios and Chim-bomba) for over 60M combined (according to transermarkt) - a shit load of money in those days

He then spent 30M more in the summer, in essence bringing forward spending he would have made later - in the next four windows he spent only 40M combined

I'm guessing we'll see the same with JM - spend now to cement a league position (this time top 4) by investing in the defence (and hopefully midfield) funded by a release of cash now and the sale of Sterling, CCV, Georgiou, possibly Lamela and others this window or in the summer

Weren't we buying Keane and Defoe back, thus not necessarily "spending", as there would have been monies owed?
