I don't remember which ITK it was but one essentially said they are willing to take worse hg players now so in the future they can get foreign players without worrying for hg numbers. Our rumored incomings match that idea.

Not sure how that makes sense. We still have a 17 non homegrown limit. Homegrown just allows us to fill the squad of 25 which is more important for Europe. Although U21s can also be used. It also means we would have more problematic homegrown players to shift down the line like Tanganga, Sess, Rodon and Spence. Our issue is not the number of homegrown, it's the lack of quality homegrown. We should shop in the Championship or League 1 for more young prospects like Phillips imo. There should be no desperate need to sign a homegrown this window.

ITK have told us that Ange wants a type of player with certain attributes and has the last say.
It's a different era, so let's look at it with a new focus. What skillset does Kelly have compared to Sanchez and Dier apart from being HG.
We ain't buying a £50m CB as back up so just maybe it is seen that he is better back up than what we have now.
Improve the squad to fit in with playing style.

It’s a poor day when Brentford and Brighton are pipping us to a signature and we are going into the final 24 hours with huge holes in the squad.
I do agree with others that the Kane money was spent in advance but we desperately do need a fwd and Cb.
At this point Tosin and Johnson would be a positive. I hope the pessimism from our ITK picks up through tomorrow and then in future windows the data approach has players targeted and sounded out well in advance.
