An option/obligation as it gets late and they need to move him. As it is, Brighton came in and did a straight loan.
Yeah I get the better terms argument but obviously in the post I was replying to it was suggested it could have been done a while ago. Reality is so late in the window there are often teams happy to take players on a loan without options to cover holes in their squads. Essentially it’s a very risky move especially when the selling club really don’t want to give an option. Just have to hope he wasn’t a top top target of ours.

Whatever else this window has been it has certainly been interesting, and it would be a lot less interesting without all the insights from the ITKs - so, thank you for that.

Thanks also to @Archibald&Crooks for managing the chaos & crayons.

yeh very common but we ain't got time to piss around with this screams Berahino to me.
They've got a real hard on for getting home grown options in during the death throes of this window right now. "Future proofing now due to rising prices" is the key phrase I keep hearing, and very much expect that's the way we are gravitating. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see 2 HG options come through the door in what ever guise that takes.

By all the information given I keep thinking its not unrealistic we won't get another income. Would be shocking...

Good to hear IMO! I really think you need a window with options like that when looking at our squad because I think it really allows us to be more flexible with who we target in future windows. I'd rather bite the bullet and get ahead of it now personally.

Unfortunately the best option talent wise, Ebere Eze (IMHO), does not fall into that bracket with his contract situation.

I can't imagine Gallagher's value shooting up too much either, especially when Chelsea's new CMs bed in.

I think if we end the window with Micky as our only CB recruit then we've failed. We are one injury away from having a very shaky looking defence.
Yeah I think to say that Sanchez, Dier are acceptable as back-up is just not true. They are a big part of what has brought us thus far and opposition teams will be more than aware of their weaknesses. Please can we not kid ourselves anymore?

Daniel was trying to be smart-ass thinking they would agree to a sale or option in mind hoping for a delay in the deal to resume talks on it today as the player said yes to it and Barca said no with Brighton offering the terms required after being informed by mendes. The player was convinced to play there on a dead loan.
Why do we want a loan player with no option to buy, one of the highest paid player. Since when we are obliged to strengthen Barcelona. If that is the case I am glad we are not getting him.

So we may have:

OUTS - possible Dier to Fulham, sanchez to Monaco, Japhet to Augsberg, with Lloris, NDombele, Reggie and Gio still uncertain.

INS - potential for Tosin and Johnson, Gallagher highly unlikely, Fati off, Eze a tenuous link.

thanks for all the ITK at the moment gents, really appreciated 👍🏼

If Brentford (or any other club) are sniffing around Johnson too, then I'd say it's highly unlikely we'll get him. Levy always wants a 'deal' and if another club is in the mix it becomes a sellers market.

The guy can't help himself, such a massive ego.
You would honestly think that we would now be willing to put an extra £10million into getting Johnson. For Ange, whom Levy is so pleased with.
