Maddison is decent and had good numbers for a poor Leicester team last year! Must be better value on the continent for that position however. He would cost a fortune.

For the first time in a long time, i dont get stressed by the lulls anymore. We have got a shrewd operator with cash we're happy to spend for a manager that'll utilise it best. Getting everything right so far ?
I'm not getting stressed, but the excitement of a good transfer is addictive.

Surely it would take a huge bid for Leicester to sell Maddison to us?

Makes sense for us to want him though. HG and relatively young too.

He’s a prick, but I could live with that if he was our prick.

Either Eze or Oliseh would add something to the squad, hate to upset the applecart but I heard last week we were keen on James Maddison, who I rate but I know many on here don't like.
We’ve had ITK in the past saying we like him so no surprise he’s still on the list. I know he only has two years left on his contract but that didn’t stop us holding firm with Kane last summer and I’m sure Leicester won’t want him going to us. I’m sure they would ask for a crazy large fee.

Expensive yes, but a bloody good player and home grown. When they put a white shirt on I forget everything they ever said or did in the past.

Palace would demand similar money (maybe more) that what they sold AWB for Olise and Eze hasn’t done it consistently enough in PL - mainly due to injuries.

Maddison is a great player but didn’t he tweet some unsavoury things about Spurs in the past?
Heard here somewhere that he had a 30m, or 35m, release clause

I believe he tweeted something like that he hoped Spurs lose to Liverpool because he doesn’t like us and doesn’t see what the big deal is re Bale. Of course, Maddison was 16 at the time so…
As things go by todays standard, that is pretty tame

I do like Madison the player. I think he's become far more consistent and influential in the last few seasons

Really on the fence with Maddison. Good player but can't stand him other than his footballing ability. Suppose for the right price it would work. Just really don't want to be where we were a few years ago with bad apples spreading negativity behind the scenes. Let's see though.

Maddison is a very good player but if were in for him we must have serious cash.

He would cost as much as Richarlison and is best suited to a position we don't use.

How creative is he though? Genuine question.

He can really hit a ball and he’s tricky, but can he ‘pick a lock’b

The sad thing is both Eze and Olise were players we had our eye on for quite some time but didn’t take the plunge. Wasted opportunity. Palace will make a tidy profit on both these players some time in the future.

Out of interest, why have you concluded he’s potentially a bad apple who is going to cause problems?

He seems a bit cocky, but nothing more than that and I’ve heard interviews where he seems to think about the game, rather than trot out the usual media trained bore fest answers.

Not sure either were ready for Spurs when they moved to Palace, though. Both have huge potential but Eze didn't blow the roof off when he was fit in 20/21 and Olise only got 1200 minutes at Palace last season. I don't think either would've got the gametime to develop at Spurs, especially as they would've been playing under Jose/Conte who don't use too many youngsters.

I like Maddison more than many on here, but given the crazy fees mentioned we'd be mad not to look to Europe. Given we just dropped 50-60m on Rich, paying a similar fee (or more) for Maddison really would be excessive.
