JJ's just confirming that his "+34" comment regarding the photo of Paratici on the phone at the match the other day related to Emerson. No point trying to read anything more than that into it.

JJ when asked if it will just be Emerson: We will see as the window is very much alive in a really f-d up market.People trying to sell then completely rescinding & it’s like houses with a chain of buyers all lined up then something changes which skittles the lot ! I still expect something will happen tomorrow though IMO

I am quite excited for tomorrow. This window will be unlike any others due to covid and club’s financial situations. I think some opportunities may present themselves and we are well positioned to strike with one of the more well connected DOF’s in the world.

Wonder, if he is implying that things were agreed with Wolves for Traore and it was reneged by them

Rather suggests a striker playing in Spain doesn't it? Could be anyone from Griezmann to Aspas..

I wonder if we could nick Jovic off Madrid?

I have to agree with Rob. Time and again we failed to push on, let's be honest the side we have started the season with looks pretty average on paper. Way too much weight is being given to two CBs (Dier and Sanchez) who have been with us for years and we all know aren't good enough. All of a sudden a few good games and all is forgotten. Big risk if you ask me. They may turn it around this season but it's a big risk. They are just as likely going to end up costing us sooner or later.

Our midfield lacks guile and creativity, and we are severely lacking a RWF and / or a back up striker.

It's always the same old story that we leave ourselves one or two signings short and we never push on and do what we need to do to give us a real chance of success.

If Kane or Son get injured, we have no goals from anywhere else in the squad. How can a team have just two goalscorers? The rest of the squad can't buy a goal.

Where is the RWF to upgrade on Moura and Berg? Where is the creative attacking midfielder? The back up striker? This club does not build for success, it always just does the bare minimum.

At this stage a RB isn't enough. We needed two more at a minimum.

I think we’ve done pretty well considering how skint we are. We can’t simply ‘write a check’, as much as we’d like it to be that way. Agree that an attacking playe would be great tomorrow, but our attacking squad depth is not all that bad.

We aren't skint. We've lost money but we certainly aren't skint.

I woke up to 30 new pages on here and thought it would be about Emerson and his + 1, but alas it’s mostly Peter Steele lyrics.

Regardless, happy Deadline Day to all. At the end of it some will be happy, some will be upset. Perhaps the best would be to aim to fall somewhere in the middle and not let it get to you too much, either way.

We’ve said goodbye to a few old faces, said hello to a few new ones and we have somehow lucked into having a good manager again. If nothing else, the season is set up to be interesting again, which I think is probably the only thing one should firmly hope for.

An early thanks to all the ITKs, mods and cheese room staff for making this place what it is. COYS

I have a feeling some clubs are running a bluff and their calls will be found tomorrow. There’s been no massive injection of funds into France, Italy nor Spain, three places that are financially hurting and where itks have said we are looking. The same goes for the likes of Aurier; I suspect he’ll end up accepting what’s in front of him. There’s deals to be done and I believe Paritici is prepared to make them if they arise.

I don't get the significance of the Spanish dialing code's inclusion there.
Because yesterday there was a photo of Paratici on his phone and JJ replied "Is the prefix +34" and so he's just confirming that the +34 reference was in relation to Paratici talking to Barca about Emerson.

I think we’ve been pretty reasonable (if not somewhat lower than we’d expect) with the money we’ve asked for our ‘outs’ so far. What does Aurier have left, one year on contract? So, he’s worth, realistically, £10-15mill at most? Last day of the window can see that drop to maybe £8-10mill? I don’t think there’s any more than him possibly leaving. Final day for me is Aurier out, Emerson in. And then a jackpot who blinks first on Traore and Aouar.
