Herc said he expects 1 more along with Emerson, be interesting to see who it could be, I’m not in meltdown mode yet, think this could still be a good window
Reckon it'll be Aouar. It just seems the most logical and the easiest deal to do.

Another window where we all think its going to be different and its exactly the same. We may have acquired some young exciting talent but that doesn't deal with the creativity issues we have in midfield or the defence being weak. We bring in a DOF and its been mediocre.

We want to be in the Champions League and this window yet again proves we have midtable aspirations

I have zero faith in ENIC and in no ways want to defend them but I feel this is fair

Not long ago they spent 100 odd million on two creative midfielders. One is struggling and one has completely frozen himself 0ut .

What are they meant to do? Pretend they dont exist and just spent a fortune on another one? I've no doubt if we could move on N'dombele we would sign another playmaker but as there appears to be no takers you can understand the club being reluctant to spend another 50 odd million on his replacement .

Nuno deserves all the praise in the world for how he's got a tune out of the team for the first 3 games.

But we started well with Jose last season and then look what happened?

We still haven't addressed a lot of the glaring weaknesses we saw in the squad last year.

our downfall with mourinho was mostly his fault. He had kane and son fit for most of the season, chose to not play Bale for the vast majority of games and chose to sit deep and defend 1x0 leads even though our defense was shambles. I fully expect Nuno to do a better job with this squad.

At this stage I'm hopeful that Romero will shine as a false 4, keeping clean sheets and banging them in at the other end. Two birds with one stone stuff.

Agree people might be getting a bit ahead of themselves with Dier and Sanchez. City don't have a top class striker - that's literally the reason why they wanted Kane. Against Wolves they were up against Jiminez - a player coming back from a horrific injury who may very well never be the same again, and against Watford they were up against Josh King.

I'll hold my judgment on their resurgence until they've faced a few top-class strikers.
It's almost as if we needed to sign one of the best CBs in Europe this season so we can cope with those top strikers

Just over 24 hours to go of agreeing passionately with or getting royally irked at strangers on the internet, of engaging in types of behaviour I frequently counsel my kids against. What a cock wattle I am.

Now, who wants a fucking row?
I don’t want a row, so lets have a row about that

The biggest issue is clearly central midfield and we havent bid for one creative/possession based player We were terrible at wolves, poor yesterday as we cannot keep the ball. That’s the most worrying part of this window for me.

i for one do not take any internet rumor very seriously. howver we do see the facts though:

Do we have replacement for Bale/vinicius? No
Have we bought a new nr 10 since Eriksen left? No

Those are crucial areas we need a player/replacement, specially a creative one, and no ITK or rumor would have changed that in my opinion.
I don’t see how your post is at all related to the point I was making about whose fault it was for raised expectations.

As I’m sure it will be shocking to most, I’m fairly happy if we get Emerson across and nothing else.

While I do think we should bring in a backup striker, the Europa league competition is pretty poor so we should be able to rest Kane/son in those games

I agree that we cant just go and waste 50m on another midfielder but we have been told value in other leagues due to financial issues and if that is the case we should of been able to find a solution. Its not like the creativity issue is new.

That’s what I’m worried about. That our midfield business is done despite shipping out Sissoko and then having to rely on Ndombele and Winks

Otherwise we'd all be fuming that we sacked Mourinho rather than just buying another 5 players to sort us out. Mourinho killed the team, as he has done in his last few jobs. Fortunately Nuno seems to be getting some of our players back into playing at their prime again, and this alone, with no signings this summer would have improved us. But we have addressed our defence, we have brought Skipp into the midfield and shifted on Sissoko. We have bought in an exciting player in Gil.

Midfield needs another player. We just can’t rely on Ndombele and Winks is wanks

Just don’t see how Ndombele fits in to a hard working midfield like ours. I knew we’d be stuck with him though, any sensible club that could afford him would be bonkers to take him off our hands.

Agreed, I fucking hated those terrible wins that led us to be top of the table.

This is my main issue. We've had years of seeing how shit they both are, how badly they cost us in key moments, yet a couple of ok performances and suddenly they're reborn?

No. They're not good enough. Neither is Winks.

You're missing a key ingredient - we have a new manager.
