What same old shit would that be?
Not having a decent back up for Kane - how many seasons is that now?

Leaving a problem area in right back until the second last day of the window.

Failing To shift deadwood such as Aurier, Doherty, Davies, Winks etc and leaving it to last minute as per usual (same old shit).

-Kept Kane
-Replaced Alderweireld with Romero
-Managed to swap Lamela for a highly rated youngster in Gil
-Signed another highly rated kid in Pape Sarr
-About to replace Aurier with a superior player in Emerson
-Could still sign another forward in the next 24 hours

Great transfer window - club with a plan.

That is a Gooner's take on our window so far on Arsemania. They've spent £130m and are in meltdown over their window.

You could add the fact we got money for Sissoko, signed Son to a longer contract and have brought Lloris' replacement. All in one window. And it hasn't closed yet.
THIS...

If we don't do more business tomorrow it won't be a good window.

It'll be okay, not disastrous, but, yet again, 3 or 4 key positions not dealt with.

It's too early to make definitive statements on FP obviously, but so far it's just been the same under him as under Levy...funnily enough.

So as we’re in a rebuild. What the target? Europa league qualification through league? Win the ECL (does that qualify us for an upgrade to Europa L?)
Our squad is sixth if we have a good season

So Christ on a bike I really don't want to pollute this thread any further but:

1. Can you please take all of the moaning and individual player analysis elsewhere

2. I was one of the people thinking that perhaps we didn't need quite the major surgery that others thought. I largely kept quiet but I think we can already see the difference a change of manager has made

3. Do you think it's possible that the ITK have only been given info that they/their sources can release without it being obvious who leaked it

4. We are entering, as it were, the vinegar strokes period. If nobody has any money then very clearly it is going to take movement on outgoings. We should hopefully see some movement over the next 24 hours. We may have several deals on ice until other players move

5. I think there's a fair chance that some magical deals become available absolutely last minute.com (Barca and Madrid in particular) so let's give them a chance

FFS !

The negativity is astonishing here. We started the rebuild by getting rid of players like sissoko and lamela, all of that while bringing exciting european talent and amidst the manager hunt that was chaotic and all the Kane drama. Sure, it wasn’t a 9/10 window as we are still short with offensive options, but it sure wasn’t a horrible window like some here try to make. For his first window it has been most pros than cons for the Don, i’m optimistic for the future.

Let's not lose our shit over 1 ITK post,
For the record - its a lot more than just "1 ITK post"...

We have been trending towards this outcome for several weeks, its just that many did not want to see that.

I don't see the window as a failure, but it certainly failed to live up to early expectations. If that changes in the next 24-hours - great. But I am ready to move on from the window.

MELTDOWN?
Really?
Are you serious?

It is not about bringing money in before we can buy! It is about freeing up a space, then HG quota etc. I mentioned a long time ago, if Winks as an example went, we would bring one in. Our priority was defence. We bought in Romero, and now Emerson. Sanchez stayed, and looking reborn, same with Dier.

we bought in an exceptional attacking and creative talent in Bryan Gil. Kane stays! We try and try at the price Wolves wanted, and terms they wanted. We up our price, and they simply as things stand, don’t want to sell.

Thus far we have done exceptional business: Gollini, Romero, Emerson, Gil. Sarr (loaned back). Total (creative or not) Approximate=150m

yes! I know many will argue actual spend against etc, but still smart and sharp.

I expect at least one more aside from Emerson. We thought with Mendez we had Traoré nailed. But Wolves bottom of league, feel if they sell him now, they are as good as relegated. Relegation they loose out on near 150m.

24 hours. Things have already yo-yo'd more today than my non-existent cryptocurrency wallet.

Please hold your negativity for just one more day. All I ask.

Sympathetic to this perspective, but I don’t have an issue with leaving RB until now though if it means we get the right player.

I also think it’s difficult/impossible to shift 10 players in one window but if (as I expect) Aurier goes tomorrow we will have shifted 4/5 who aren’t good enough and that’s a reasonable start.

Having said that, a backup to Kane is absolutely essential, think everyone who watches us regularly can see Son is not a ST.

Hate to burst your bubble but I think you will find our neighbours from South London are bottom of the league ?

Negativity by whoever it comes from, just want to be negative. Because it is that easy like playing FM, which I don’t play.

This is my main issue. We've had years of seeing how shit they both are, how badly they cost us in key moments, yet a couple of ok performances and suddenly they're reborn?

No. They're not good enough. Neither is Winks.

Impossible. My hands are already itching to write how "we're at least 150% weaker than last year and we haven't replaced Vinicius' goals against Marine yet"

So what happened to all these teams on the continent in financial peril that would sell up near the end of the window?

People are too demanding these days, it was always going to take Fab a couple of windows to fix the rot within our squad. Lets just be patient, things on the pitch look good so far, so what on earth are people complaining about?

Not the thread for it boss is it really? Sanchez in his first season with us when Toby was injured was a revelation.

As always, the incoming ITK is appreciated. AS one firmly planted neither in the bedwetter or the happy clapper category, this has been a good window specifically because:
1. We upgraded CB by adding Romero and are seeing better performances out of Sanchez and Dier
2. Kept Kane
3. Resigned Sonny
4. PIcked up some bright talented young players who at a young age have already had positive performances

What is still a priority is
1. Attacking midfield with creativity is sorely missing.

What i'm meh/slightly skeptical about is open minded about is:
1. RB is not solved but JT could be the solution. Emerson and others woudl be positive.
2. How we will fare with Kane out of the line up. Sonny may be good but he'll need rest too.

So i guess i am a happy wetter bed clapper for the moment. i like that the medium term looks bright and the short term looks brighter.

Difficult to judge any players under jose as he seemed to drain the confidence out of many.
