I really hate being downbeat and I do think some people go over the top with reactions sometimes if a transfer doesn't happen or if there's even a bump in the road but this sums up the reason why we get frustrated.

We seem to get the regular links and rumours of doing something with intent, only for deals that were supposedly seen as really important by the club to disappear or suddenly become less important.

We had been told since May we wanted two CBs, and were looking for leadership. The leadership message changed once Paratici came in and now we are seemingly happy with one CB. Dier and Sanchez have done well but I don't think they have been tested to the limit yet. What happens if they put in a poor performance vs Chelsea? Romero isn't going to be available for sometime.

So it's not a case of people 'bedwetting' for no reason, it's happened many many times where we have been left short. People aren't being unreasonable we just want to see the club show a little intent to get back in CL. After all, we had ITK stating that it was important for DL and it was either stay out the CL or spend to get back into it.
We have Sanchez, Dier, Rodon, Tanganga, Romero at CB were not getting the sixth CB unless one leaves probably 2

Need a Goalscoring WF or CAM or ST in order for this transfer window to be considered decent.

Agree. If the result is Traore, who adds a spectacular quality to the squad that helps others to score more fine, but otherwise we really need more goal/creative threat.

The first leg in Portugal showed our squad players are absolutely toothless and even over some starters, esp. Bergwijn, are serious doubts.
If Kane or Son are out for a longer period we will be very easy to defend.

That's a lot of our budget for a RB when we already have 3 to play there and are crying out for a attacking midfielder and forward.

None of them are really effective in the final third though. Aurier has wanted to leave for a while now, Doherty lacks intensity and athleticism, Tanganga is better defensively.

We would have had more joy vs Watford yesterday if we had a full back who could be effective in the final third.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I mean we are Spurs we’re are our flair players? We were promised something else something more to do with our DNA. I for one wouldn’t mind him as an addition. But I can’t see him being a long term solution.
The ITK confidence that we will make moves does
Reassure me a bit.
Well there's Gil even though it's early days.

Experience should teach us to go into the last 36 hours with zero expectations. Then if something comes off it’s a bonus.

Quite baffling we are spending €30m on a right back when we already have 3 (2 of which we are unable to shift)?‍♂️

Traore and Aouar would be much bigger priorites in my eyes!

I hope we see some movement out in the next couple days

Squad building thread?

If you Muppets get this locked or you get booted the day before deadline day you'll only have yourselves to blame.

First window for Fab so no precedent on how this turns out. Club still saying 3 in is what we would like we will see.

Pushing for Emerson today. Still trying for Traore, and a CM is also possible.

With Fab here whatever the official line I won't be leaving before the final whistle, as an injury time goal would not be out of the question with how he works.

Emerson looks on then? Let’s get this creative mid done - and I’ll be happy. Adama would be a bonus!

I thought the player didn’t want to come? (Emerson)
There was a report going around we offered very good contract to him. Let's see if it actually happens or not though but given Paratici chose to go there with only a few days left in window would indicate we felt it's a deal we can get over line.

Interesting that we're still trying for Adama despite Wolves' stance. Hopefully we've had some encouragement from somewhere (Mendes...).

Assuming we don't have infinite money, and we don't, I just want to sign an attacker. Just one attacker. The other signings are lovely, well done, but please can we just, I'm asking real nicely, sign an attacker.

If people want to talk about the squad, what we are missing, what we need ect. Then use the squad building thread
