Yesterday, Spursh made a push to oust Dova as our Pimp Lord of Whoreville, but Dova has thrown down a marker and refuses to relinquish his whorbriquet-ish title.

You beautiful little whore.

Dear @Canuk - Whore is a term used for the people that find ITK from different forums/sites.

It is literally one of the most respected terms you could call somebody here. Obviously, it sounds/looks wierd, but it is only ever used with great admiration in ITK land. Oh and it has to be earned. You can't call me a whore, as I haven't done the work to earn it (or had enough sex). Dova on the other hand has earned the right to that title.

So, the ITK is that our new Argentine coach is getting rid of all of our Brazilian players: Gomez gone, Paulinho and Sandro up for grabs. Wonder if there is any nationalist reason there?

No they're just crap in the main.

Without trying to be overly negative I find it hard to get excited by the likes of Walker, Rose, Naughton, Fazio, Dembele, Chiriches or Kaboul (still seemingly struggling) nor the likes of Townsend, Chadli and Holtby beyond the subs bench

Certainly not seeing any wow factor there

Conversely I'm very happy about the way Eriksen, Lamela, Dier, Capoue and Soldado might step up this season and think Davies could start to show he can develop into a solid LB

Of course at the end of the day you don't need 11 "wow" players in a team, what you need is a balanced team that fit together well, lets hope Poch can work towards getting that, but I still see a few weaknesses and question marks

Chadli? dont see this

If itk is true and MS is joining... And Sandro, Townsend, paulinho may be superfluous.. We would still have a very solid midfield 2 and 3...

That match day 18 is IMO capable of beating anybody on our day; so am struggling to see where the weaknesses or question marks may be?

(For the record, I rate Lennon n Soldado in this new playing system, n Kane seems to be doing well enough as back up LWF.. But granted that's also why ITK identifies specifically LWF as only other area of concern for Poch)

Well if you rate those players that highly then you will struggle to see the weaknesses and question marks. I just don't share or your high regard for the players I mentioned and though having a better balance can improve the team and having a few players now more familiar showing better form I still don't see that offsetting those weaknesses that I see and there are no guarantee that others will answer the question marks.
As we saw last season new players don't always settle in quickly, Dier looks to have settled well, but Davies might take a while and more so might Fazio adjusting to the PL

We shall see, time will tell but I don't see a depth of quality to match the likes of City and Chavs even if we can remain ahead of United and edge ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal, but even that is a bit uncertain and depends in part how well their new players adjust and how they cope with departures

We haven't made many signings to a team that by our standards was pretty poor last season and the signings we have made are hardly big name signings. granted that big name signings are not always the best option to fill a need, but

Quoted by Frederico on his smartphone.
"I’m really happy to be here at this club, this great club with very good players.
"I come to Tottenham because I think it’s a very good team, a very good club, very good fans. I know Spurs is a historic club in this country and league."

Exactly -
Strong goalkeeper
Mean defence, that is more than the sum of it's parts
Midfield that works incredibly hard every game, with one or two class passers - Koke, Turan.
A striker that can finish regularly, and be a nuisance for defenders.

I wonder what the reaction on SC nine years ago when we signed Lee and Stalteri was? Who?

Despite a great deal of unfair stick, those two were part of one of the meanest defences we've ever had. Our outlay that summer came to about £14m, half of it on Jenas, with £2.5m on Huddlestone, who didn't play, and £2m on Rasiak. Bang-for-buck, that was very effective spending.

Funny that some of our record breaking defenses in recent years have included the likes of those two. Similarly we had Bassong and Dawson together during the season of Harry's amazing home defensive record. Harry, Bassong, Lee, Dawson, Stalteri... Maybe a defense can be more than the sum of its parts.

According to the telegraph, we are interested in bernard, along with arsenal. I wouldn't want him personally, to lightweight IMO. However muniain would be fantastic signing if DL pulled his finger out. Fits poch's system perfectly, LWF who likes to go inside, would be perfect at interchanging with eriksen and lamela.

Definitely wouldn't put this in the ITK Discussion thread though.

That would just be suicidal.

He strikes me as being pretty upfront. No Harry like bait-and-switch. guess we will see.

It would both damage team and player moral if the manager was seen publicly stating they could leave. As it stands it appears there is no concrete offers for the two, so would be ill conceived to shit in their cornflakes. Nothing worse than having a player who has nothing to play for.

Get the best of both worlds, if they leave, they do it in good spirits and we free a space and get some cash. If they stay, they are still going to be fully behind Poch.
