Would much rather he was in HK finalising Bales contract than out in Spain. Only because I believe (deludedly hope) Soldado is done and there is no need for him to be there.
Optimistic thinking on Soldado. Bale is already under contract so not sure how that should be dealt with before Soldado who could be snapped up by someone else.

I very much doubt he is in Hong Kong to speak with Bale anyway (why go all the way to Hong Kong for that?). He'll be doing his commercial stuff like agreeing a new supplier of suits or whatever we announced recently.

This is disgusting. Surely Bale and his agent should be angry about this, let alone the club. They are referencing specific supposed meetings with dates and everything. and how would they be able to quote a conversation between Bale and Levy, unless they have a robotic fly on Levy's wall... o_O
Think we should sue their arses... Pure lies... Can't comprehend how they get away with it...

I think the fact that AVB has actually come out and said we are talking about a new contract for Bale gives weight to POTL's ITK that it is close.
I imagine discussions have been taking place for a few weeks since Bale came back from holiday but Spurs wouldn't want to make it public in case talks broke down, which would have looked to the world and his wife as though he was off.

Thank fuck. I though I'd been banned and was trying to figure out what I'd done.
Interesting you thought you'd been banned though eh. Guilty conscience perhaps? :cautious:

That marca article is simultaneously hilarious and disgusting. I simply couldn't follow such a gobshite club. Line the halls of the stadium with as much marble as you like. Someone else who likes to shiny things is Peter Stringfellow. Both have as much class as one another.

Sorry, Realmadyid but you must cringe at this kind of rubbish.

Anyways, that's all a load of madey-uppey cack thankfully. Soldado, Coentrao and Laljic of GTFO Levy, you club ruiner!

Of course he's doing commercial stuff but for some reason I have this image in my head of Levy following Bale round everywhere he goes, paper and pen in hand, saying 'Gaz sign this now, Gaz sign this now, Gaz sign this now'

Maybe to the Benny Hill theme tune

Going back to the finances available which AtlantaYid posted about seem to be ringing true.

£43 million after Chadli, say £25 million from that for Soldado... Leaving an amount seemingly allowing for us to get Coentrao.

Still sounds all very football manager-esque but this could be the year.

I know it's been said to death but add the final 2 and keep Bale, firmly believe we could be right up in the mix.

Doubt anyone cares, but my Donny mate whose dad is on the board says they have Khumalo training with them at the moment, he's playing in a friendly for them this weekend. Can't be arsed putting it in the ITK RO forum as it's not interesting, but if anyone wants to then feel free.

Yeah, I do too.

Also, if we are looking at up-front money for Soldado, it might be more like £15-17m which could leave around £10m for an additional player. I wouldn't rule out McCarthy if that's the case.

Ah yes, the Lisa and Bart Simpson approach of asking over and over until he caves in.

"can we have a pool Dad?, can we have a pool Dad?, can we have a pool Dad?, can we have a pool Dad?, can we have a pool Dad?"

if coentrao is offset with the money that rm still owe us, the pot is intact for another signing.

That sums it up beautifully.

That's a good point. It would probably just be announced that we agreed to terms on an undisclosed fee. To which amount we would probably never be privy to.

I still can't get my head round that Levy would only take half the money up-front from RM for our star player, seems ludicrous but I guess that's how most deals are done now.

That would be a fantastic deal IMHO, probably have to give them bit more money in addition to offsetting that money though.
