rising to 20m is honestly not that bad though. just like how if soldado never ever hit those targets, we will only be paying slightly over half of that promised amount. if 20m is based on performance bonuses, by the time we have to pay that it would be because he'd deserve that amount.

still, the first rule of negotiation is lowball. if wba wants 20m as first offer then they'd already lost. player wanting to go, contract final years, we have all the leverage. i reckon an 16-18m deal would seal it.

Our young players are better than the players we are being linked with. Really uninspiring. Hope just media links.

Sissoko was the best Newcastle player against us last season in the two home games I saw. All our midfield were also scared to tackle him because he was such a beast. I'd sign him just on that basis. He's not really the pure defensive midfielder we need though. Although I'm not sure poch really even wants one of those.

Edit: sorry, just seen it's unlikely after posting this. Hopefully we are concentrating on getting berahino in anyway. I think it's going to be hard to get to what wba will want.

Agreed...But Naming a player that we may be interested in is far far better than people here guessing all the names when a ITK says 'We are after a German midfielder or Spanish winger or Argentian youngster'. Having said that I don't agree with ITK's being put under a Q& A session
