I'm curious - does that £17.5M net profit include the property sale of ~ £11M?

I'd assume not;

Out: Vlad, Kaboul, Capoue, Stambouli, Holtby, Paulinho, Soldado, Fredricks

In: Tripper, Wimmer, Alderweireld, N'Jie

I'm sure someone knows the figures - love to know the savings on wages too - that would accumulate to significant savings over the season.

Haha.

Media Link. Bid and rejection made public. Statement not ruling out a sale. Transfer request rejected.

This exercise is so scripted in the boardroom.

I am so sure that Berahino will be ours and it has been structured between the Clubs so WBA come out looking good to their fans

Well they didn't stand up very well considering all the players they sold. The only reason they didn't sell Schneiderlin is because they already lost several players, yet they still sold him this window. They're a selling club.

As for Berahino, this is all set up now. They have rejected our bid officially to show their fans they are fighting to keep him. Now the manager has left him out of the last squad saying his head isn't right. Now all we need is an official transfer followed by Pulis saying "his head was turned and there was nothing we could do".

my specific point about soton was clearly about their steadfastness at this point in the window. they were willing sellers last summer, up to a point, then slammed the door shut. their door is shut now. unless city offer 30m for someone. we wont be!

If only we had some people on here that could maybe confirm this is the case?!?!?!

Terrified that we'll once again we spend our time chasing our Top Target, who is a lost cause and end up with nobody. Odds on SB signing a new Contract? Was is J-Rod or MS at Saints that went on strike?

I don't know. Berahino is hardly God with the fans. I'd imagine this would be worse as they can all say there chairman is a lier if sold. ThT statement stops anything happening soon. I'm not convinced west brom def want to sell

It's either that or Levy has met his match.

WBA Statement "Transfer Request Rejected"

"There will be no further comment".

Hmmmmm.

Seems like every chairman wants to do a levy!!! and who better to do it against? the main man himself!! Plot thickens and makes sense from the ITK over the weekend that is close just few final annoying things, which this would be one of them. Unless the West Brom Chairman is just doing it to save a backlash from the fans and put all blame on Saido so they come out looking good i do understand, but seems like they are being proper pr*cks about it now!

West Brom seem as if they're trying to mark Berahino as the bad guy in this by releasing a statement. Aren't transfer requests usually identified by snooping journalists or player agents rather than the actual club releasing a comment.

I can't help but think that this is a way to keep their fans on the club's side by implying that Berahino forced his way out of the club should if he in fact leave.

Not looking good if they have rejected his transfer request.

You would have thought if they were going to let him go they would have accepted it as it would save them a fair whack of the transfer fee (not having to pay it to him).

Don't think he is coming if this is true

Agreed. I pretty certain there chairmen won't give a damn what the fans think. He isn't doing this to please them. He may well be doing it to get his 25 million. West brom don t need to sell him. We need a forward though desperately. They hold all the cards

Gut feeling this will go to the last day. With no other striker purchased we will be on tenterhooks. Worst of all Levy will still fail.

All this WBrom are doing this and that drama is just some of us placating our fears.

When he's holding up the white shirt then I will believe.
