Maybe it's a lazy take because of the Dybala incident still in my mind but Zaniolo doesn't half have "we tried but we couldn't get it across the line" about it.

Obviously not gonna guess at the cb targets, but intrigued all the same.

Well we did have ITK earlier in the window that we were still talking to Inter about Bastoni, but it was unlikely/difficult this window. I'd imagine that has become an impossibility now Skriniar looks to be off. Aside from that there is Ndicka and Hincapie we have had ITK on. Good bet it will be one of the latter two id think.

Hopefully it does come off. Get Porro, Zaniolo and a quality CB in and I think we could go on a real run in the second half of the season and qualify for CL again.

I do worry about us pulling the targets off though. Feels to me like we are expecting both Sporting and Roma (edit) to budge on their valuations and I'm not convinced they will. Can see other clubs swooping in on both. As for CB I'm guessing we're going for Ndicka but not convinced we'll be at the front of that particular queue.

Bit forthcoming but if that is what it takes then now is not the time to be a prude.

The big difference being that fewer tears will be shed over Zaniolo. As much as we moan about bad signings in this forum, Zaniolo is the kind of deal that has to be on our terms and not Roma's.

Now that you've mentioned it, I do recall those names mentioned. I just haven't immersed myself as much this window to avoid the negativity.

The fact that Porro and Zaniolo are both players we have been following since before Conte means these things line up perfectly. I'd imagine it would be the same with CB targets.
