Concerning really but this is a consequence of poorly prioritising in the summer. Everyone knew our biggest issue to our first XI was both wing backs and LCB. We ended up with an aging free transfer, a youth prospect the manager didn't want and a loan.It is concerning that wlb says if no right backs go out we won't get porro, I understand 4 right backs is too many but the alternative is we have 3 that aren't good enough so how is that better
Especially as it's a key position
Now I understand that this is a negative spin on transfer business we were mostly happy with before a ball was a kicked, but are those the actions of an ambitious club? Especially when these are the most important positions for our current manager.
Now we find ourselves a few months down the line, similar issues but a few more added on and we are (seemingly) doing nothing about it.
Granted, I'm sure more is going on behind the scenes than the press know but I'm also relatively confident we will end this window having not being able to do what we needed to.
January is a shit window to be panic buying in, but clearly if we aren't careful we are going to go into the summer needing to sell a dozen players and buy more than that. We need to start taking action now.
