Now there's a phrase I haven't heard on here for a while.Didn't we have ITK a couple of months ago stating that we would have all eventualities covered? Yeah I know, it's still likely that we won't get certain business done but may suggest that we have plenty of irons in the fire.
Fucking CasanovaIs happiness not happiness at all, just because it was short lived?
We're worried about the depth, or lack thereof in the squad. And we're worried that the sales are now leaving us short on the bench too when the only incomings seem to be GKN and potentially another keeper.Popped into the transfer section for the first (and last) time this summer... Quelle surprise to see a load of transfer junkies crying because we haven't signed a dozen players for the GDP of a medium sized nation. Always the same
Exactly- things that are totally reasonable for lunatics like usWe're worried about the depth, or lack thereof in the squad. And we're worried that the sales are now leaving us short on the bench too when the only incomings seem to be GKN and potentially another keeper.

This argument doesn't really add up, because the stadium more than pays for itself. Extra seats, extra boxes, extra hospitality, third-party leasing of venue, NFL money, the new TV money: all that income is guaranteed over time, and is not dependent on team performance. (Financing could even survive relegation.)
Nor is it dependent on how Spurs itself is being run day-to-day. There is no imperative to hit profit targets in order to finance the stadium. I expect Spurs to be run the exact same in the next 5 years as in the last 5; a tight ship, modestly profitable, punching above its weight. Since we were never going to start spunking megabucks on Galacticos before the stadium, so I don't expect us to do it going forward either. So it's no change, not a worsening of the situation.
I'm afraid he can't. He's free to PM you the numbers though in a noble attempt to stop this thread going wildly off topic.Sounds like guesswork to me. Unless you can provide the figures to what all the above will bring in and over what period of time?
I'm going to post this here and take some terrible stick but if you get it, you get it!
"It's my belief that history is a wheel. "Inconsistency is my very essence" -says the wheel- "Rise up on my spokes if you like, but don't complain when you are cast back down into the depths. Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it is also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away".
Boethius.
I wouldn't have you any other way Spurs!
Boethius, goodnight!
May yet be proven wrong, but thus far everything's gone awry ever since it was announced that Mitchell was leaving..

Not sure how anyone could be optimistic right now. How many deadline deals or close to it have Spurs done in past few years? And if Son is sold in addition to Mason and Chadli, the only positive about this window will be the overall balance of Levys bank account as they will have guaranteed themselves a large profit at the cost of fielding a deep, competitive team for all competitions.I'm a naturally optimistic type of bod but I'm starting to worry a bit, all these outs and at this stage it doesn't look like we will replace too many let alone upgrade for CL....but still 3 days left I guess
From hertyid on COYS re: ISCO
I waited all day to hear back from my guy on this. He's currently in Malta, no idea why.
He says it's not bullshit, we have been speaking with his dad all week (?), Madrid want him away at least one year on loan and we have been trying to negotiate a deal with them that gets around his buyout clause for the permanent option next summer (I don't know what this is).
Will come down to the player, apparently Milan (or Inter, I could work out who he meant) also chasing. Player doesn't really want to leave Madrid but game time likely to be limited.
Tenner paid!3 signings I expect as a minimum. I am putting a tenner right now in SC war chest to back this up
