Despite all the positive ITK sounds like Levy is reverting to type, so far we have had a net spent of 40m this year (TN in, JC in, MD out, KT out) GLC in will take that up to 90m. So according to Ghostfarmo if we want Sessignon and Dybala we have to sell to balance the books. 90m net spend over a 2 year period for a club of our stature is ridiculous, Villa have spent 125m this year, West Ham 100m last year and 75m this year, how can these clubs do this but we can't having qualified for the CL 4 years running and just announcing an massive sponsorship deal.
Ambition off the field but not on it.
I'll give you a clue - it cost over £1bn and it's sitting where our old stadium used to be.

Heh. It's being paid off over 25 years and even then a lot of the cost was in lucrative assets not connected to the arena itself. The stadium is no excuse. This is not the era that crippled Arsenal, who committed to a stadium and naming deal a decade too early.

So we’ve missed out on Almada (£20m) and circa another £20m on another kid? Use it to get Sess and GLC over the line or put it towards Dybala.

I am happy not to sign Dybala as long as Eriksen stays which I think most people are comfortable about, but the scenario where the uk transfer window closes on the 8th Aug and the spanish window closes on the 2nd Sept leaves us exposed to Real Madrid coming in for Eriksen in that time. What is Eriksen's attitude gonna be because he has stated that he wants to go to Madrid. RM could be deliberately using this ploy to make it easier to sign him cheaply. Are we gonna deny him his dream move and have an unhappy player?

so do you think we should buy a replacement incase he goes? what do we do with the replacement if he stays

If he’d said ‘we’ve signed so and so’ etc then you’d be right. He has said ‘we’re being told’, ‘looks likely’ so they don’t have to happen to be facts in this case.
Well if you want to go back several seasons rather than the last one (which is what we’re currently trying to improve on) then that’s up to you, but it’s a fallacy, for example Tripper was a better previous seasons than he was last season as well, but literally no one is moaning about him leaving.

we will improve this season, we haven't got 12 knackered players before a ball has been kicked

Difficult to know what to do, but nether the less there is a risk. Ideally you would try to get him to sign a new contract by 8th Aug or come to an agreement that there would be no transfer after 8 aug by giving him a compensation payment.

There was no way Lo Celso was ever going to get a pre season even if we'd bought him on day one of the window because he was playing in the Copa America and there's no way we'd have had Sessignon for pre season once he was injured so the upshot is that Poch couldn't have had it whether he wanted it or not, it has nothing to do with whether or not we'd bought them by now.
I know it's easy to get side tracked and be disappointed that we haven't completed yet and then develop different scenaros forgetting the innitial facts but not having signed him yet has changed nothing.

Yet Foyth had a full pre season. I'm sure Lo Celso would have cut his vacation short to impress his new boss if we signed him early.

I *think* Foyth came back straight after Copa America because the dates worked better around his honeymoon.

and how do you know we haven't got an agreement to do that. ITK don't get every single little word that is only known by the club.

we have 12 days left of the window, have signed 2 targets and sent 1 back on loan, the other 2 have either been on holiday or injured. Dybala has only just come on the scene and we haven't even had any real ITK, and people are going into panic mode.

Foyth has an extra 2 weeks off as he is suspended for the 1st 2 games, and perhaps didn't fancy having a holiday when he has the chance to prove he can play the right back role

Foyth played part in 17 games last season, Lo Celso 46 (stats from transfermarkt)

I'm sure Foyth is looking to impress to get more game time
