I’d interpret our confirmed interest in PD as linked to Eriksen going there. They need someone to play deeper till Ronaldo hangs up his boots and I think CHristian would be interested.

Dybala plus GLC would give us a nice Argy feel, oldies like me would hark back to 78 and bags full of ripped up newspapers

Dybala would be a huge statement, but to sign Ndombele, Lo Celso and Dybala at circa £60-70m each, that’s a huge outlay. Would someone have to be sacrificed??

So we had the big signing we all wanted earlier this summer in NDombele. Tacked on a youngster (Clarke). Seem to be inching closer on a second major signing (GLC) with possibility of another youngster (Sess)....and now....

Now we get a out of nowhere link put in the press by several writers and then confirmed by ITK for a third massive signing.....

NOW it feels like a transfer window

Toss in a random link to Lass Diarra or Klass Jan Huntelaar just for nostalgia and things will be really crazy....
For full nostalgia I think we need a post credit (window) scene where we get a letter from the one that got away

I mean, yeah, I assume so but I’m just staggered by this. Dybala is a proper tier 1 player. I don’t think we’ve managed to get one of those since Klinsmann. Would be a massive statement.

This would be bigger imo. Klinsmann was perceived to be in the autumn of his career and playing for a mediocre Monaco side when we bought him.

Dybala is in the prime of his and playing at one of the world's super clubs.

smokescreen to stop betis fucking about with lo celso.

The fact the club have released this through Ally G makes me think this is the most likely option here. If we can get Dybala for not much more than what Betis are holding out for on GLC then it really forces their hand to agree to our offer before we "move on" to another target.

I’m more inclined to hope it’s actually to put more pressure on Madrid for Bale seeing as it’s Bale and Dybala play pretty much the same position. Wouldn’t have thought Betis have much need for pressure to be applied as they’ve already bought a replacement and can’t really afford to keep both.
