Not good enough really. We should be aiming higher and really shouldnt be including players coming back from loan.

We need a couple of CM's and a back up striker. Son being used as a striker is a cheap alternative and shocking for a team that has so-called aspirations for the Champions League.

Not good enough really? Come on have a reality check, we finished 7th and are in the UEFA Conference League!!
We all want the likes of Martinez etc through the door of course but we cant attract these players when they want to play in the Champions League, World Cup year and great players want to be seen playing in the UCL it's just the way it is, we have been very lucky to get Romero in as it is, i agree we need creativity and a back up striker but getting both and being top quality is almost impossible, lets just see where we end up this time next week but Tomiyasu and Traore added to what we have already would be a good window for Conference League football this season.

I dunno about the negativity......before the whole manager search a lot I was reading was expect nothing, signings only based on outgoings.

So I am pleased with Romero, Gil, Gollini, sounds like Sarr (who I'm very excited about having seen a bit of him) and a hope of a couple of more.

Seems anger is based on people getting swept up in every link and taking them as done when we all know things change and you need salt.

You're doing the PR team's job for them by including Skipp & Sessegnon as incomings. That would be a pretty underwhelming window with no back up striker and no strengthening of central midfield (in terms of new players), arguably our biggest weaknesses.

But they are both improvement for our squad. There really is no point of making transfers for no reason.
And I would say the midfield of Hojbjerg, Skipp, Dele(that is playing), Lo Celso, Ndombele and Winks is certainly better than Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Dele(that wasn't playing), Lo Celso, Ndombele and Winks.

I’m pleased we seem to be being linked to more players now compared to a few days ago, and ITK are saying deals are still being worked on.

I’m sure a lot of it is the press having their usual silly season dickfest, but it suggests things might be happening. Fingers crossed.

These are the things that are keeping my hopes up tbh. Just hoping we’ll pull another rabbit or two (brace) before the end of Tuesday. I think the whispers have dried up this year and it’s cards close to the chest. “Lessons have been learned” ?

If I remember though the links to them were surprises and not alluded to from behind the scenes. I wasn’t really referring to the amount of time it took them to get over the line ? but instead the actual players themselves. Much the same as Tomiyasu would be if it actually happens.
