Weren't there some photos of him where he actually looked slimmer and in better shape than we've ever seen him? I had the impression that he's not playing because he rabidly wants out, rather than is unfit.

He doesn't appear to be physically unfit, nor causing a fuss in training. He's in all the SpursTV stuff and looks happy and well.

I assume he's got the same moans that Bale had in the first start of the season. People blamed Jose for that, but it's probably not a coincidence that Gaz suddenly became fully available in the run up to the Euros, and not before (when the risks were higher).

Possible Tanguy has Benny Syndrome, and isn't particularly passionate about playing

He doesn't need an arm round him, he needs a bloody good kick up the arse!
Doesn't work with the primadonna players of today unfortunately, they want to be cuddled and told they are the greatest player to have ever lived........ in all honesty though Ndombele has never settled at Spurs, he just saw us as a way out of Lyon and onto much bigger wages in the hope that after a year or 2 the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona came knocking, when he is on it he is one of the best players to watch, a highly gifted player but for some reason it just hasn't been a good fit for him in N17, if we can find him a club then that will be best and i personally would like to see Auour replace him.

Did one of the ITKs mention a few weeks ago that it now takes a lot longer to complete paperwork on foreign deals due to Brexit/Covid? I know someone said it, but I can't remember if it was an ITK, or someone quoting from an article somewhere. If it's true then I guess we need to agree deals pretty soon to get them over the line in time.

Can we not offer a player silly wages as a way to get them to sign please. Tanguy is the perfect example of someone who only came because we offered 200k a week. Now we're stuck with him. It's funny that we have Kane wanting a move to City and we're holding him to his contract. Tanguy is rightfully holding us to his so can't really complain. The only way I see him going is on loan with us paying some of his wages.

We want to 'Back the managers' and all that and Poch wanted Ndombele so we backed him and got it over the line. We look now at the 'rebuilding' and wanting to 'back the manager' and strengthen etc... so we do need to find ways to get the 'best' players to come here or take risks etc... Talent wise we thought Tanguy was a risk worth taking. Just hasn't really paid off.

We've seen what he's capable of and if he was delivering that more consistently no-one would be questioning him getting 200k a week. Shame he doesn't have the attitude but if there was another player with his talent who was getable? I'd say go for it and we'd just have to hope their more committed.

As for Trix's updated and ITK, the general theme is still positive and I'm here for that. We're still looking like we'll get some more bodies in and looks like we're generally aiming for areas that we need so sounds positive enough. Not groundbreaking but doesn't always need to be. Very much curious to see how this last week of the window plays out. Looking outside of Tottenham for a moment, so many other clubs seemingly haven't been able to shift deadwood (unless it's Chelsea shipping out their loanee's) so think there's a lot around the PL and Europe who are bracing for a manic last week

All transfers can be agreed subject to paperwork. As long as the request for their registration transfer etc is in place before the deadline.

While Poch will remain a legendary manager for us he wasn't half shit at spotting a player.

Good news re Kane, I know we all like new shiny things but Kane is proven world class and with move breaking down now it's likely that he will be with us until the end of his current deal, if not longer, as view this summer as being his last realistic chance for a move.
On your first point, i won't stray too far off topic but it does make me wonder what would have happened if we had The Don and Poch at the same time. On Tanguy, that's just appalling news, such a waste for both us and him.

I used to be the eternal optimist but even I have to admit, from a players perspective, there’s not much to be excited about at Spurs.

Still love the club and want us to prove everyone wrong though for what it’s worth, and I think we’ll achieve something special with a younger, hungrier team with something to prove. Nuno seems special too.

I get where you are coming from but like you said a fresh new season and a fresh start with a new manager is something in itself. That goes a long way. They are playing in the premier league for a big club, it could be worse. You get to play high level football in incredible facilities and get paid pretty damn well for the privilege.

I totally understand Harry wanting to leave, he's served the club brilliantly for years and has unfortunately just missed out on some big prizes with us, he's getting older and the club has just had a bad couple of seasons. Tanguy on the other hand may be a bit taken aback by how things have gone since he's signed but he has no divine right to be playing for a CL team, he came from Lyon, it's not like he was already at one of Europe's elite. Soumare just won the French title with Lille and happily jumped ship to a Europa league side in Leicester.

Lo Celso just won the Copa America as a key player and came back early from holiday because he wanted to turn things around. Same with Hojbjerg after reaching the semis with Denmark. Tanguy missed the Euros and had an great opportunity to get his career back on track with a full preseason under a new manager. Instead he's decided he needs a move and Nuno is not keen. It seems his friends Aurier and Sissoko leaving has played a big part of this and he's clearly unhappy here. I can understand that but some of the responsibility for that also falls on his shoulders, not just the club. In the end I blame the club for not doing enough due diligence on him in the first place. I just hope Paratici can come up with a good swap deal that suits all parties before the window closes, it just isn't going to happen here which is a real shame.

Really not getting the idea that if we sign another wife forward we can have Son as our back up striker and don’t need to sign another striker. Last year we had Bale, Lamela & Vinicius and have replaced only with Gil so far. Even if we add Traore we still need a striker.

Agreed. I'm not married to the idea either.

I agree, this was always the reason Harry Kane made the decision to go. While many people think we should be going all out to concentrate on getting back up this season Spurs are obviously at the start of a "new project" and at this point in his career that is not where he wants to be, yet again!
Agree completely with this which is why it's understandable Kane wants to leave. If City had just offered a fair price for the top goalscorer & assister from last season I think we'd have accepted it. It's the fact he seems to have been working with city to get a move on the cheap which is so wrong.

It's telling how many people are saying Kane can just leave next summer for an agreed fee. What we should be saying is Kane gives us 1 more year to match his ambition & show there's no need to leave

Looking back at a few of the ITK info, it looks like a few players we want out are not wanting to go.

Sanchez and winks both want to stay and fight for places, I just hope Nuno tells them straight if they will get near the team or not before the window closes, even if we can get them out on loan (last ITK info in the read only bit) it's better than nothing. Would have thought we would have seen more moving out by now.

Yeah - difficult window really. Some fringe players with no credible route out (for whatever reason), and a team in need of fresh blood.

Even if the Nuno/Fabio revolution succeeds, it's going to take time though and time isn't on Harry's side.
