There have also been numerous ITK stories over the years where we've apparently been 'on the verge' of signing someone, and it's turned out in the end that there was barely any contact between Spurs and the player/club and the whole thing was media tosh.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Suarez stuff is the same - he just doesn't striker me as a Harry type player, a Levy-type purchase, or proven enough for either.

ITK

Briefly spoke to Paul Allen in the gym again.

Do you still think we'll sign a striker?

Yeah I think so, it's always a bit more difficult in January, they don't want to rush into anything.

Anything on Suarez...Fabiano…Carroll even?

Hehehe... not sure... I know there's a few they are looking at…..walks off...

I've never really been convinced Suarez is the man to lead our line anyway, maybe I just haven't seen him enough? I dunno. So I wouldn't be devastated if we had to move on to someone else. Not sure who, but I'm backing Harry and Levy to get the right man, whoever that is! COYS!

Scouse itks saying we've offered more and Ajax want them to match it, which they won't and are ready to walk.

Us in driving seat on fee, it would seem.

I assume it's Clive, not Paul? AFAIK Paul has no connection with the club other than cousin Clive.

Suarez has a bake on him like a gooner does he not, plays like one too

I'm not sure Levy is ready to fork out the kind of money you need for a top class international striker. Goals win you games so top strikers usually cost the most and get paid the most. We need to pick our top target and then throw the mula at it like shity did with Dzeko. Losing out on top 4 this season would be a disaster. I'd love Fabiano and Hulk as Hulk could cover RW too. Flog Pav, Crouch and Keane.

Not necessarily. The Allens are always tied in with us, Clives brother Bradley coaches with us too so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that cousin Paul, who played for us for a fair bit, would get to hear a few things.

I don't know why we don't put a lowish bid - 7-8mil - for Kuyt. We want a hold-up striker who can play up there on his own, who'll work for the team, is technically good, who can also chip in with goals. Would have thought he'd be good for VDV too.

He's no Torres, and has spent 3years playing out of position on the right wing for Liverpool, but he could definitely do the job adequately until we find our Torres and wouldn't cost the earth.

#LFC have pulled out of the running for Suarez. Attention turned to Bendtner.

Paul is there nearly every week. I've met him a few times when i score corp tickets - he's one of the band of ex players Spurs keep rolling out to talk to VIPs like Chivers, Jennings and Mullers.

Saw Vega, the Viking and Ginola thte in the past too but they sit in the boxes for the game so are just guests rather than working the room.

Yea it's Paul. I know he's at the club quite a lot as a guest. Now works for the PFA.

Normally see him there every other day but most of the time he's either got headphones on or is just wearing towel.
