I'm pretty fine with it all. Not many of the names mentioned this year I really wanted.
I'll reserve my judgement on the lightness in key areas as and when the season concludes or the problem escalates. Right now the versatility of the new signings is untested but Henry was once a winger, why can't N'Jie follow in similar footsteps?

I'll still watch the matches but this is the last straw. If this is Levy's version of a Stalin 5-year plan, we're now in the "starve all the peasants and lie to the public" phase.

Our midfield lol
What about it? Last year we played with mason and nabil basically every game

Benji never played, same with capoue and paulinho

So we added dier, Alli, Carroll can play there along with moose. I'd say we improved even if lacking experience

Same goes with attacking, ya we lost Robbie, but what did he ever do anyway? N'jie, son, or chadli don't have to do much of anything to improve on him

Forever the optimist coys

Im usually very positve about our dealings, but this window feels like a huge let down. I'm sure Son can play up front, but that's not what we wanted him to do when we bought him. We wouldn't have been after SB if we wanted him to play there.

I am slowly feeling ambivalent about Levy. His tough negotiating tactic might have worked wonders before, but meanwhile all these years he has earned such a negative reputation as a bargainer that other teams are now very wary of dealing with Spurs (see Lyon, Southampton, Sevilla etc). I think this will only get worse, and I question the viability of Levy as an effective chairman as far as transfers are concerned.

I stayed hopeful but I can honestly say that I'm not the slightest bit surprised. My fear was that we wouldn't cover key positions again and that's what happened; as it has several times before. I will never give Levy/ENIC the benefit of the doubt again.

"Your incorrect views".

He had a fucking opinion, a well-reasoned one, based on exactly how we have dealt with the situation in the past.

No need to be such a sanctimonious so-and-so about it.

I've earned the right to be sanctimonious on this one as many posters you included have been just a sanctimonious for the last 2 weeks when it was felt that Peace meant what he was saying. Our club and many on here misread Peace on this one.

In case i dont get the opportunity thanks to the great ITK guys for the sharing over the last 3 months.

What free agents are actually out there and can we still sign them?
Gourcuff, Nolan, Carlton Cole, Berbatov, Ameobi, Andy Johnson, Juninho, Jara :banghead: ... :blackeye:... :grumpy:...

Its always the same old story with Spurs. A couple of players short of what would have been an excellent window. For some unknown reason we don't seem to want to take that further step. If the statement from WBA is near the truth, then Levy has well an truly been caught by the balls. It does nothing but make a laughing stock out of the club. Another window which started positively but finished with the usual failure of finishing the job off.

Kane's gonna find it hard to score 30 goals next season again and we need to be score more goal than last season not less
Really we need Kane, Son and N'Jie to score more than Kane, Adebayor and Soldado. We need Eriksen and Chadli to keep scoring and more goals from the other midfielders. Last season only Kane, Chadli and Eriksen scored with consistency. We need to get much more between the others. It's a team sport and we need to score more as a team.

And give him special treatment again? He only performs when he's treated like royalty.

Offer him a heavy bonus for every goal he scores

Right now i am struggling to see how we will finish above likes of Swansea, West Ham, Palace, Leicester, Stoke etc

According to Ian Danter (and I know most people on here hold TalkSport in total contempt) WBA rejected our bids because of the way they were structured, which, apparently, included only a cursory amount upfront. I'm afraid this sounds all too credible to me.
This window has put to bed once and for all the myth that Levy is some kind of King of the Transfer Window. True, he may be good at squeezing a few extra quid out of clubs for mediocre players (Steven Caulker leaps to mind), but when it comes to player acquisitions, he is an utter chump. And he seems to be getting worse. In the 2013 window we paid ludicrous amounts for players we had barely scouted and who have since utterly failed. In this window we failed to acquire cover in vital positions. Getting striker cover was an absolute necessity. It don't care about the reasons for it- to allow it to happen was plain negligence, and has made Poch's job almost impossible.
This is going to be a tough season, and this window has confirmed it. I would suggest however bad things get, we stay behind Pochettino, especially in the event of a Kane injury or drastic loss of form.
There's no point in sacking him anyway. Levy would only go and appoint another plank.

I'd love to hear from the ITK's who were so positive to find out what happened. We've gone from 3 in this morning to absolutely nothing...

I'm not for one minute ITK bashing but would love to know if their contacts can/have alluded to what happened beyond not meeting the asking price for SB
Agree...

From Pearce's comments we were a million light year away from ever being close to getting SB.

JJ is quick to be negative so I have no clue what gave him reason to be positive on signing(s)??

Seemed like Berahino we were the only one we got remotely close to let alone a midfielder.

But they're SIGNINGS. And it means Everton finish higher on Sky Sports TABLE OF SIGNINGS.

That's what's important. Signing people. Just keep signing them.

You don't think we're short up front? I haven't seen much of Clinton but Son isn't really a striker.

In addition to Lloris leaving next summer, I would assume Kane will want to as well after playing likely 40-50 games throughout the season if he is lucky to stay healthy. The goodwill he has toward Spurs can quickly change when put in a situation like that. Really, they are jeopardizing his career. Why would any promising 21 year old want to be run into the ground?

If they both leave, have to think Eriksen and Vertonghen are probably not far behind.

Time for the PR spin. Stadium info updates and a naming rights deal to make everyone go "he's such a a great chairman. be careful what you wish for. grass isnt always greener. it was worse before. yadda yadda yadda." Expect to see this in a few days.

I don't see this window as a failure, just incomplete. It wasn't perfect, but Njie and Son should improve our attack immensely. I'm excited to see them in a Spurs shirt.

Apparently Adebayor's contract may be ripped up meaning he'll be a free agent. Knowing us, Levy will move to snap him up, claiming he's secured a proven PL striker on the cheap.
