Bah humbug.

Also, is he basically saying that we are interested, but the Corinthians President let the cat out of the bag? Or is he just saying the Corinthians President said it to create interest?

Nothing in Bernard at the moment ! New swede scout who is mate of the chief exec DE. Numpty.
Baldini hasn't a clue about players either!! #worrying
Corinthians president leaked the Paulinho Story to press!

feels like opinion/onion to me... Baldini knows nothing about players? How's he earn millions of pounds a year for X years not knowing about players?

I'm not usually one for defending SM (he can do that himself), but I think there was a strong sense of irony in his comments. I think it was precisely because he had seen the news that he wrote that response. Maybe I'm wrong and he was being a tit, maybe I was correct and he wasn't being a tit or maybe I was right but he's still a tit! You decide, but I'm sure it was light hearted. (y)

I don't understand how there can be a bidding war for Paulinho if he has a release clause??

The potential idea of having 3 or 4 Brazilians playing at the Lane is what dreams are made of. Imagine having over a 3rd of the national team in a spurs shirt...WOW. I hope we manage to pull off a couple of these transfers. As EJW said before, our options across the middle would be ridculous.

I'm still up for Leandro but can't be doing with all the dicking around. I'm not fussed about Villa but I do have concerns with the lack of links with other strikers/forwards. Fuck this is going to be a long long summer.

What does he mean about this scout, who is DE?

Darren Eales I'd imagine

Edit -

Professional career[edit]

In 1997, Eales returned to England where he read law at Cambridge, and gained his Cambridge Blue in 1998. He became a member of the bar in 2000 and eventually joined 2 Temple Gardens.[5]On 6 May 2006, he was hired as an in-house legal counsel by West Bromwich Albion.[6] and was subsequently made a Director and Company Secretary.
On 2 March 2010, Tottenham Hotspur announced that Eales was joining them as club secretary at the end of that season.[7] On 1 July 2010, he officially joined the club as Director of Football Administration.[1][8]

I don't get first thing seems a bit incoherent regarding Swede scout DE and numpty...

Rest doesn't sound too promising.

It makes no sense unless we are openly offering less than the release clause.

Bringing our interest out into the open may bring other clubs to the forefront quickly which the Corinthians President will feel might push us to upping our offer to the release clause should we really be that interested.

I think we all know that Levy would never offer the release clause amount on the first bid.

Not overally surprised by JJ comments re Braziliand presidents etc. we should learn by now that they aren't easy to deal with.

I am surprised about Baldini. Surely this guy comes with a very strong cv and a wealth of experience. We should remember it was AVB who wanted him, so I trust the appointment.

It doesn't really matter if Baldini doesn't know who he wants.

So long as AVB has the ability to determine targets, which he apparently is fully capable of, Baldini can be the guy to get deals sorted and use his connections in the game.

It may actually work better that way. It removes the "Levy-factor" to an extent and it ensures the guys we bring on are AVB's preferred targets.

As much as I value JJ's ITK we have to remember his information is still to be taken with a pinch of salt, with transfers things can change so rapidly. Just today there is supposed quotes from one of Bernard's advisers/agents saying we are the only club interested in him, which would paradox what JJ has just said about Dortmund.
