A new era under a manager that is perfect for rebuilds. Give Ange the keys, I trust him.

There was Tottenham Hotspur before Kane and there will be Tottenham Hotspur after him.

An absolute legend of the club and I'm gutted, but we need to move forward quickly and precisely (fingers crossed on that though!)

I feel like the debacle two years ago when he and his entourage were pushing for a move to City made me realize he won’t spend his entire career at Spurs.

Peronally I believe Kane sees this as the perfect getaway. He leaves for a big fee abroad to an elite club, which paves the way for a return to Spurs in the future.

It’s the sort of move everyone (…in due time) can accept.

For some reason, I am oddly calm. Hit me way more when Bale left. Will feel a bit strange seeing Harry in another shirt though.

I think the frustration with Bale was that we lost him just as he reached superstar status. We were robbed of seeing him play more for us in his prime.

With Kane we got all of his prime (although I'm sure he'll be top class for many years yet). Hundreds of games and hundreds of record breaking goals.

I think everyone accepts it, for me just the way BM has gone about it has pee’d a lot of us off and now I would rather it wasn’t there he ended up.

Still doesn't feel real that he's actually off and I don't think it will sink in for a good while yet.

Having Kane as an ever-present this past decade has been like a football comfort blanket. No matter how shit we were we always had Kane and his goals.

Will be sad and surreal to see him go - the biggest 'end of an era' moment in my life as a Spurs fan - but I'm also excited about life without him under Ange.

Oh, and scared. Definitely a bit scared.

Anyone entering negotiations with Daniel Levy has to bring their A game and bag of dirty tricks. Bayern have indeed been arseholes but mostly because they're used to throwing their weight around in the Bundesliga. I'm also glad Kane is going abroad.

I’ve got no problem thinking of Spurs without Kane. Then again I’m older than 16.
Not sure if this is a dig. If it is it shows you are as immature as a 16 year old. For the record I’ve been going to spurs since the mid eighties if that ages me. Point is in all that time we haven’t lost a player barring hoddle that has had such a long-term impact on the team. Bale carried us for a couple of years, Kane has carried an average team for a decade. It will take some getting used to. Im glad we have a new system in place to try and spread the load around the team and that should make it easier but it’s a loss

While i agree with a lot of this.

Not sure we've been average for a decade... 4-5 years maybe.

Thanks for that. You probably/ possibly realise that players are a temporary fixture while the club is there forever, both emotionally and physically. And you’re right it’s an immature reaction to the bed wetting and wailing of some of you on here. At my age I should know better and not get irritated by it. But then again I’m in a happy go lucky mood as my 31 year old son gets married this afternoon.

Be happy that Spurs produced such a talent and we’ve enjoyed him for a decade or so. But he‘s not your girlfriend leaving you for a German rival.

Get a grip.

See you all tomorrow maybe when Shakhtar score an early goal. Ta-ta.

It will be weird I have to say. I have been going to games a long time but I think it’s the first time I’ve seen a home grown legend start and finish at the club, obviously transfers are different. Previous would be Ledders but he started before I had my ST.

It really changes the image of the club and signals a fresh start. I have mixed feelings as I feel the issue has clouded us for a bit, and prevented us having a true reset as we’re chasing success to keep Harry. Sad, but I think long term it is best for us. Glad to have been at his first and last games at home.

If Kane is gone and the club have the replacement signing(s) planned around what the manager wants, AND we are left with a core of players who want to win (lacking last season) then I’ll take it. We keep hearing Ange in the midst of the transfer talk, not a peripheral figure making do with what Levy/a committee moneyball into place.
I never thought I would feel positive about Kane leaving (and I don’t) but… seeing him go off and Richarlison notch a hat trick straight away the other day made me think there’s hope!

It’s painful to see him go but it would be devastating if he lined up for either Manchester clubs or the Chavs.

@Roberts84 see you disagree hope your right, but i'm not going to kid myself into believing Levy won't use this opportunity to claw some money back. My guess is he spend about 70-89% off fee time will tell. It's all about opinions😀
I disagreed as I believe the money will be reinvested. We may not spend more but I think that what we get in will go out. Secondly, I disagreed as you started to go on about Levy, and this is not the thread for it. Once someone starts about Levy, others follow and this is the last thread that we want shut down today and over the next couple of days.

TBF even I wouldn't lock this right now. But if people want to take the piss, they'll lose their access faster than Levy jumping into a swimming pool filled with £50 notes.

Good luck to Harry, I wish him all the best. Now go score a few against Arsenal in the Champions league. 😉
