You do seem to be too wound up by it though man.

Look I don't think its an open secret that I am fairly scathing of the ability of at least a third of the squad and want rid of them in a heartbeat, I think we could do with at least four more signings to be honest with you, but its still early in the summer. The time for panic and wrist slitting is not yet. It would be ideal to get players in early and when we can, we do (eg. Berbatov, Modric, Vertonghen, Sigurdsson, Paulinho). Lets see how things pan out now but there is still a lot of time left in the window.

Plus even if we don't make signings, I look at it as some of the youngsters may get a chance which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

Half the posters here have this group mantra around this time that it'll all be alright, and very rarely has it been. Chill, DL this etc.

We fluffed Moutinho on deadline day, money left etc. is why we went early for Paulinho I suspect, we have big issues in the side to remedy if we want to compete and the fact that so many deals we have put time into haven't worked out isn't a good indication for the rest of the window if past form is anything to go by.

Too few of our youngsters are anywhere near ready for the level we need to perform at to attain CL, we need a player injection and its been well overdue.

I'd be surprised and delighted if we had a striker in within a fortnight, I'd say we're more likely to have sold one or two if we're lucky.

If we're working through lists of targets, does this mean we've already failed to get AVB's first choices? I don't know, but I'm not overly optimistic given our form for late in the day scrabbling and bargain hunting.

Fella, you're slagging off EVERYTHING. How the hell do you possibly expect people to not neg rep you? You're as deluded as the idiotic Aston Villa supporter who thinks his arse is for speaking from. As for the retrospective ratings, grow up man!!

Apologies to everyone else for being nowhere near on topic, I'm going for lunch.

In fairness Coops, you wanted Harry sacked about two years before he was ( from when we finished 5th and QF of CL ) and spent those multiple years using every post to go on about how much you hated him like a one track broken record. Surely you can understand some pure unadulterated hatred and what it does to a man ;)

I don't think it's good news about Parker being sold at all, if Sandro get's injured, we have Paulinho, Holtby and Livermore as cover. I think personally Livermore will be sold and Paulinho and Holtby are surely two players that it would be better for us to have in the final third of the pitch.

Interesting quotes from Friedel on meeting JL:

“After meeting on numerous times with a few of the board members, they are ambitious and they will try to strengthen the squad,” Friedel said. “We went out to the Bahamas (for an exhibition game in May) with Mr. Lewis, the owner, and he showed us exactly how ambitious he is for the club … and how much he wants us to win and be successful.”

Few days old but something to mull for those who haven't seen.

Seeing is believe and we'll see after this transfer window, just how ambitious we are.
