With a sprinkling of "we tried".

I'm so bored of these sagas which start off unrealistic, then they reel you in as soon a few respected journo's confirm it, and then ultimately end in disappointment. We get 1 every summer transfer window it seems.
I think you're forgetting we already had one of these this summer with Mbappe.

I would be so much more reassured if we just had our list of targets whom we have really scouted, who are first choice to fit the system, and who have been properly vetted, including in terms of mentality, application and their desire to join us. Whenever I see a transfer or a swap described as opportunistic my heart sinks.

Felix absolutely smacks of an opportunistic, last minute, Levy special which is what I fear our remaining transfer policy will resemble looking for perceived bargain deals instead of persevering with long standing scouted targets and/or recommendations from our team, be it Gabbanini/Paratici et al.

No other club with a coherent recruitment strategy would do the same.
But in this case, we do have PEH to bargain with, normally we only have hope and a prayer

Yep, get players that the manager wants and will use, pointless otherwise.

Now, maybe Ange is a huge fan and is the one driving this but . . .

So everybody has suddenly forgot how underwhelming, dare I even say shit Felix was for Chelsea after his loan move in january? Atletico tried to offload him to them permanently back at the end of the loan, but Chelsea rejected (and they sign anyone with a pulse, as we know).

Couple that with the fact that he cost Atletico 110 mil. £ back in 2019, and their valuation surely is unrealistically high. Add the wages of a + 100 mil. £ player, and there are so many things pointing to us not pursuing him.

Which is probably why we'll end up signing him.

Fati is one we like as stated previously and he’s certainly on the list 😙 . Not saying he’s what me or you lot want haha 😂
So we like Felix, but he wants Barca, but barca can't get him until they sell Fati, which we like, meanwhile AM like PEH, but need to sell felix to pay for him.

I'm getting a real snake eating it's tail feeling here.

With the latest ITK from WLB, I wonder if this is a more likely scenario as I just don't see Felix coming to us.

Fati to Spurs
Felix to Barca
Hojbjerg to Atletico

Felix was the one I felt we should be going for as it was also favourable they wanted Pierre. I dont think its a negative that he wants to go to Barca, I think most players would
They'd want all the kane money and he's not worth that.

The whole of chelseas squad was underwhelming, yet people now think they are a shoe in for top 4.

Felix really does feel like the kind of player we end up taking on a season long loan with options to buy right on deadline day.
For what it’s worth I think there is a real player in there somewhere but is it right for us? I have my doubts

Fati would fit the LW role better than Felix IMO. Obvious risks with his knee though. Loan with option as opposed to obligation might be worth a punt.

Cheers for the update WLB.

After Sunday’s game, it probably would be a good idea to switch things in attack a bit..

Something like Porro on the right, Feliz on the left, Porro’s wife through the middle.

Yup it's all starting to feel horribly familiar after a decent start to the window.

Doesn't feel as if there's much of a plan right now and it really wouldn't surprise me if Ange is handed a few misfits at the end of the window and nothing else

Why sign Fati though?

Son, Perisic, Solomon & Gil if he stays means we’re stacked at left wing.

We need someone for RW, don’t we?
