A few bits on Kane form both sides(sort of)

Hearing a few bits from an agent that has had recent dealings with both sides of this.

Deadline is Friday. That is known by both sides although that rarely means teams won't bid after a deadline has passed. City are willing and more than likely going to bid again. Problem is what they are saying they are willing to go, to is still someway short of what we are willing to accept. Whilst there hasn't been an OFFICIAL bid since the beginning of the window there has been verbal discussions regarding this and City raised to around 125+ add-ons(hypothetically) end of last week. It was dismissed but certainly a step in the right direction.

It's my understanding that we have now decided the add-ons doesn't really work for us despite them being very much in the discussions this far, and many of those proposals will now be off the table. Levy(goalpost shifter extraordinaire) now wants straight cash. From the city side of things they are still confident they will negotiate this out.

......................................................................................................................................................

Also from my contact at the club......So pretty much nothing has changed.

From the Spurs side it's fuck the negotiations, this is the price and once you meet it you can then expect it to change in our favour then we do the deal. That is Levy. We all know and usually very much to our frustration, he does this with EVERY SINGLE DEAL bar none.

Anyone saying the deal is done and it's about our replacements is wrong. It's just not true at all. If the right bid comes in HE CAN GO, if it doesn't he 100% stays until next Summer minimum and that is that.

Great stuff. I back Levy on this. Pay up or he stays!

Sounds very plausible. You can see why City are confident as negotiations are ongoing but I get the impression they don't actually know what is ahead of them. I think they got off easy with Levy over Walker and are now about to meet him in final boss mode. All I hope is that the Friday deadline is respected and stuck to by all parties, although effectively it only has to be Levy.

As always whilst Levy holds the cards City do have the money so it's a tough one to call. All it takes is them deciding to pay up and worry about FFP later.

Pleased with that ITK from Trix. The optics around add-ons are awful, and they really shouldn't form part of the structure of a major deal. They're baulbauls (Edit: Bauble! FFS) to decorate it with. Give us the cash or do one.

Separately, what was that tweet about from @spursofficial 10 minutes ago? Not going to post it because it might not be transfer related at all, but its basically 8 seconds of Nuno and the crowd celebrating Son's goal with the caption "Coming soon ?..." Probably new training socks, but still.

Edit: As others just said, probably manager cam. Oh well.

Demanding straight cash seems the best option to me, so that’s good to hear. Presumably cash + players would be the next best option.

Cash + add ons seems risky given the state of Harry’s ankles.

It was easy with Walker because they paid the price we had set for him.

as for FFP, I’m sure they can put together some fake sponsorship deal to funnel in some cash from an oil well somewhere to cover the shortfall. Alternatively, they can just tell the FA, Premier League and UEFA, through their lawyers to go f**k themselves. Works everytime !!

As much or more than this I think its about cash having greater purchasing value now than it will later, which alters the calculus.

Ordinarily you might take 10m of very-likely add ons later above, say, 7m now. But in a situation where cash is in shorter supply on the market you might figure that 7 now is worth as much as the 10 later anyway, so its not worth it.

the last itk Levy moving goalposts after a deal has been agreed, info states like he always does with "every single deal". No one should wonder why we are so bad at clearing out players we no longer need. (and as a consequence struggle to refresh and keep the squad at maximum fighting weight). He seems incapable of learning from his mistakes

Edit: not saying Kane is a player no longer needed..obviously! Referring to behaviour and failures over many, many transfer windows
