Doesn't this all change again if Kane for goes his loyalty bonus and submits a transfer request??
Wasn't there a period years ago where Messi was contributing more goals and assists than the rest of the Barca team combined and was MOTM for nearly every game but they actually improved their results and performance when he was injured?
I could swear I read a long article at the time about how they're better without him even though he's by far the best player to ever play in the league. Might have been dreaming it.
But if he hands in a transfer request and City stick 130 on the table? I can see things changing. Levy is stubborn for sure and gets most value he can. If 130 is it, then that's what it is. Sadly for us, no one else seems interested because they're set for this season and Haaland is available at a knock down price next year so Kane won't be the hot bargain on the table. Not while City havent bid anything near the amount required. He's looked foolish so far and that would make him look sillier.
If City were offering £150m plus and we wasnt accepting then you would see why he'd hand a request in but not yet.
Not sure if you remember, I think it was the CL final season - Kane got an injury to one of his ankles, and we went on something like an 8-10 winning streak without him; and there were tons of goals, from all over the pitch, plus a cohesiveness that simply did (and does) not exist when he is in the team. It was the first time I'd properly noticed it. Probably on balance would prefer him in the team, but it does open a new dimension when he isn't playing.
Dragon 1 on COYS re Tomiyasu.
Not dependent on aurrier going
I’d love him as a rotation/depth/potential signing but I think we’ve gotta give Tanganga a shot to lock down RB at this pointI wish we’d hurry up and get this one done, feels like it’s been almost done for months
I don’t wonder. Seems clear that Kane wants out and will be initially disappointed that Spurs did not take a lower offer.I do wonder whether Harry is in the 'if you want me pay up' camp or the 'Spurs want too much' camp
Looking forward to what Charlie can cook up in terms of image rehab. Should be amusing if nothing else. Or maybe it's time for H to get someone with some credibility in his corner, as if after all of this he ends up not getting the move...whew. There are few times I can think of where a player has fucked up agitating for a move so badly. Maybe even none, especially with his profile.
Hopefully if it's true and he's staying, he can get his head screwed on and prove he deserves a spot in a team that plays with the heart and intensity that we showed today, because that has to be the standard now, and I don't get the impression that Nuno is going accept anything less than intensity, even in a loss.
Thing no 457 that Kane 'should' do to please someone. The place is full of things he should do
But football is a fickle business. And that's without mentioning fans but If he stays, all he has to do is score goals, do that and he'll soon be forgiven.
I get what he's done is bad, but it's not an irretrievable situation. We loved him and forgivness isn't impossible. Except maybe those perfect souls who've never fucked up, made a mistake and done wrong and I bet there's loads of them on here
Meh, I get that i'm a lone voice on this, but i'd love him to stay, it'll be a long time before we see his like again in a Spurs shirt.
We're upset because we loved him so much. But we'll get over it if he stays. I hope.
Let's not kid ourselves too much about any of this. Everything that's happened so far (incl. social media blackouts) has happened because Harry wants to leave. He will still want to leave.
If he stays, it'll be because he wants to leave and he can't, because City don't want to pay enough for him, even though he is gagging to go there. If he signs another contract, it'll be for his own personal benefit, no doubt including a way for him to leave next summer - at which point, barring a successful season for us, he'll most definitely still want to leave.
So, really, it'll never go back to how it was before, because although we all - deep down - knew in our hearts that he would want to leave, I don't think we'd expect him to want that more than he loved the club.
This'll either start to peter out over the next few days, and then abruptly end with either City ponying up, or a new contract. Feels like there's a lot of posturing going on at the moment, but I think the only real variable at play is whether they offer enough to convince us to accept.
It would also not surprise me if City held off until the very last minute before caving - just to mess up our plans.

I’d personally quite like to try Tomiyasu as the LCB in a back 4, he’s only done it in a back 3 up to this point but I think he’s got the ability for itI’d love him as a rotation/depth/potential signing but I think we’ve gotta give Tanganga a shot to lock down RB at this point
You’re showing your sentimental side. It’s going to destroy your street cred!!Next you know you’ll be retiring your ban stick?Yeah, but it feels like it
Agree mate — apart from the last sentence. Whatever terms they have to meet to buy him will surely include a date. For example, 160 with at least a week left of the window.Let's not kid ourselves too much about any of this. I dunno mate. Im just getting to know him now.You really think Fabio would leave us hanging out to dry by allowing Kane to leave just before the window shuts ??
Trust me, Fabio is one of the good guys. He'd never do anything to jeopardise the club such as that.I dunno mate. Im just getting to know him now.
Hoping we get this saga done.
I agree. I feel it sends the wrong message to someone like Scarlett that you can disrespect the club and the fans and still be in the squad ahead of hardworking, committed players.I don’t think he deserved a place on the bench, it would have meant someone else missing out.
Him being present and visible also adds to the soap opera, and I’m sure Nuno didn’t want that when everyone else is pulling together to do a job.
