Tomorrow is a huge day for Tim, what he does in terms of team selection and formation will give us a better idea than Wednesday night on what we can expect from him.

Harry Redknapp thinks he's very impressive and would do a good job. Levy rates him highly too.

Who knows if he could do a good job.

He'll probably get till the end of the season so we'll find out.

Redknapp also recommended Tony Adams for Portsmouth, so not so sure if he is a great judge of potential manager...

LOL no one can wheed out money from Levy, you can blame AVB for letting BAE go on loan. Caulker? People here have been trashing that dude left right and center before his move to cardiff. Nothing to do with Baldini at all.

Absolute rubbish.

Levy is no pushover granted, but show me a CEO who is. Other than Peter Ridsdale and the likes of Roman Abramovich who lives in a different world.

"Nothing to do with Baldini at all" we are talking players, it has everything to do with the director of "football" (there's a clue in his title) and or the head coach.

Why did Sherwood risk Danny Rose, then? He, like Eriksen, is back from a long-term injury and is in a position where we are dangerously thin. Why did he risk Kyle Walker, too, when we only have Naughton deputizing for him, also? If he was truly saving his best players for Sunday, he could've started Fryers and Naughton, instead of risking the two players whose back-ups are significantly worse than our first choice options.

As I've said before, I'm not remotely convinced that Sherwood was saving Soldado, Eriksen, or Lamela for Southampton, as I believe all three will not start (I expect Lennon, Chadli, and one of Defoe/Adebayor). If I'm wrong on that, I'll come back in here and apologize.

I think you've answered your own question. Naughton and Fryers are significant downgrades and we would have been battered with those two as part of our makeshift defence. He still wanted to win the game, and it's reasonable to say we have more depth in attacking areas. The players he put out instead of Lamela, Soldado and Eriksen were still experienced PL footballers. Didn't have those options in defence.

None of us wanted Harry. Too basic for our tastes. And yet he has been our best manager.

Maybe getting the basics right is what we need. Keep it simple.

Harry Redknapp, wheeler dealer needed a defender and striker and what he managed to get out of Levy was Ryan Nelsen and Saha.

Levy is still the real DOF in the house, Baldini has just been given a title. If he really is the DOF then he will be appointing the next manager.

Could well be - but the point is. Not you, me, Levy or even Boris Johnson (and he knows everything) have a scooby!

Sweeping generalisation.

Maybe I should have said when Ramos was appointed, there weren't people asking for Harry instead.

We turned to him because we were in crisis.

I always liked him but didn't think he'd ever manage Tottenham.

I think he should get the gig for the season. Unless someone comes in and has a miracle, there is no way were going to suddenly turn amazing. I'd much rather Levy and Baldini take their time on this appointment and make the right choice. I'm happy to write off this season...give Baldini a chance to evaluate the squad and decide who's worth keeping and having discussions on the matter with a manager due to come in at start of summer. The only worry is that with the WC, the new guy won't get enough time to get his ideas across, everyone gets on his back and the cycle continues.

I have to add though, it's pretty hilarious that people are judging Tim solely on his team selection. Play Soldado, Lamela and Erikson and he should get it, don't and his useless!? People are suggesting playing a team with 5 new players in it and thinking they are going to set the world alight! The 3 I have mentioned need game time...but it's going to take a while for them to settle.

It's brave of Tim to put his name in the mix with the shrewd behaviour witnessed over the last few years. If he fails his whole managerial career could be on the line - so good luck Tim! Your a braver man then many

But Harry got something out of Levy(he did his job), and those two players did a job, especially Nelsen.

Your entitled to your "opinion".

Edit - Do think "tight fisted" Levy would waste money on a "title". Baldini, I would have thought, would have to earn his crust. But its just my opinion.

The club need a change at the top.

When I toured the club I found it way too 'commercially' focused. All set up for sponsors and schmoozing business men. Almost a Gastro Pub style to the interior.

I wanted to see a sense of proud history and all the great players we've had.

We can bring in who we like but Tim Sherwood is right. The club needs a philosophy and identity.

Be fascinated to see what else the man with no coaching badges has in his locker.
Not sure that coaching badges are the be all and end all. The FC Sherrif manager has no badges at all, and he had us sussed pretty well.

But if it is a concern Ramsay is a coaching badge assessor, so he can mark Tim out of ten after every game.

Isn't that the problem with pretty much all football now? It's all about the almighty dollar. The average fan is being phased out to make room for people they assume will give them more money. Sickening really, but a sign of the times.

Welcome to sport 2013. Not my cup of tea either NevilleB, but it is what it is. Not just football, but life!
