There is a reason here to be knee jerk. This is so unjust it's not true. The real truth of this shit ruling that's cost us a champs league place is that Chelsea have come away from this season with an FACup trophy and champs league trophy. They finished 6th in the league based on below par performances across 38 games, but the rule is so shit that they might as well have come 17th in the league and it would have made sod all difference. That to me is a joke. They may as well have played their reserves all season in the PL and they'd still take our CL place.

Yes we let it slide, but we were shafted by refs on numerous occasions and but for bad decisions would have come third. See link here to back that up:

Or here which someone else posted elsewhere:

http://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...ady-if-not-for-refereeing-errors-3104948.html

Besides that - Chelsea's wins against Napoli, Barca, and Munich were completely unjust and undeserved. We've had the worst luck in living memory that i can remember this season and people are reacting in the only way they know how.

I forgive every knee jerk reaction on here. Tonight we're like the prisoner with a life sentence who has been falsely accused. (maybe not that bad but you get my drift)... Let them vent.

I don't know where we go. I do lack faith that the current setup is the way to go forward. It has failed us miserably the past two seasons, as it fell apart late. But is is scrapping the system or scrapping a few pieces. There's a lot that will change by this time next year: I kind of feel that Modric and Bale may have both left by next summer. Harry's contract ends. Our aging keeper and backs will be done. And we only have two forwards, both over 30 (defoe's 30?) and we slot a dutch master in as a SS. So things are angling towards a time of change. Do we force the issue now or wait until next year. I don't know.

Good post kitchen.

This should have been the best season in years. Instead it's turned into an utter nightmare. One of the the great things about forums like this one is that it allows us an outlet for our emotions.

Don't be in denial, ask yourself why we didn't cement 3rd.

It's a pretty simple argument.

Well i can understand both points, It isn't the end of the world and we could be in a lot worse of a position. However, there are others who pour their heart and soul into Tottenham and have invested a lot more than i have and everything that went wrong today did go wrong.

things go wrong it happens, no use crying over it. One day I made an ill advised comment to someone I knew, it caused a disruption in our relationship, but I didn't sit down and complain about it. Forwards and upwards, thats what we must look at. Spurs isn't over, it is a continuing process so get up and support such a process .

And people putting negative comments in thread I think you might of missed the point. It might not be kneejerk but it sure is crying like a girl, even though for I know you might be laughing at a computer. This is a no complain zone, and if you do complain is such a thread, get over yourselves. We can read your opinion in just about every other thread, so you can let it be in this one little thread. It really isn't that difficult.

I keep asking why Arsenal last season didn't do that as well, they certainly had a chance.......

Did that make sense when it was in you head?

Grow a pair will you. The outcome of a football match is earned and not deserved my friend.

So last night I was upset and angry, of course I still am. But then a fellow yid posted this on facebook.

"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It is about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out to beat the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."

We are Tottenham Hotspur. We don't ever do anything the easy way, but over the last season we've played some absolutely beautiful games off football. Anyone that doesn't really watch football could have understood why it's called the beautiful game.

Over summer and next season we have to fight. Fight to keep our best players, fight for signings and of course fight for every match to not just sit back for 88 minutes (I'm looking at you Chelski ;)).

Fuck Chelsea, fuck Arsenal.

WE ARE TOTTENHAM.

As that poster above Fox Mulder's desk said: "I want to believe".

It's just hard to right now, with the way things panned out and how they could have been.

Had a feeling all week a that chelsea were going to win it, just one of those feelings. And the way the match panned justified those feeling, you knew it was their night.

As for the us, well take it on the chin, avoid all media out lets for the next week (couldnt stand looking at those smug ****s faces lifting the champions league), and keep looking at the table for last season.

Players were linked away from the club when we finished fourth and will undoubtedly be linked away again. For me levy as im sure will do everything in his power to keep them here, and if they do eventually leave then it wont be without a fight nor without getting the best deal for us.

What i love about Spurs is we do it the right way, we live within out means, and for the success we have had without the resources of other is, when we actually achieve something is sweeter than, those of a club that has spent what a man city has or a chelsea has. If spurs had probably spent a billion we would have won the champions league alot sooner.

On the bright side all good things have to come to an end, Roman cant go on for ever injecting cash into chelsea, either he will get fucked off with it, he will either died or putin with get fucked off with him, and chelsea with go back to being the club they once were. Look at Blackburn and the success they had, once the owner died looked what happened.

Were as we will always be here, no matter what, even through events like last night. As we have foundation of fans who have been through it all, through the bad times, and through the good times.

Meh... Dissapointed but life does go in, two very young kids with absolutely no passion for sport or football makes you see common sense.

Next year maybe our year, remember modric and bale are tied up in lengthy contracts, if levy doesn't want to sell, but rather strengthen us properly this time, then trust in him I will.

It's a long summer ahead, but I for one can't be bothered to moan about the capitulation we have whiteness ever several months now.

It's been a while since I've been on here. I do feel gloomy today! Not quite as bad as the 5-2 - I almost needed therapy after that one - but this runs a close second.

That said, I knew it was Chelsea's destiny to win this. Even after Muller scored. Chelsea get their first corner and BANG - what a header. I knew Robben would miss - and I knew Cech would be the difference. I'm pleased for Drogba who is a truly great player but ashamed of Terry. What an 'odious little toad'.

Anyway, onto us.

It will be a long summer but I'm hoping that Levy acts decisively about what is best for the team. Harry has done a lot for us but there's always a cost - the entourage, the media intrusion etc. I'm not sure if he's the right person to pick a shattered team off the floor. Part of me wants him to stay, part of me wants a clean sweep.

What we cannot afford is a summer of rumoured departures and Harry's last minute wheeling and dealing. Modric should be allowed to leave should he so wish - and soon - NOT on deadline day. We need to have a PLAN. It looks like Chelsea are moving for Hazard though it'll be interesting to see who is willing to pay the required fee. If Madrid or City come knocking for Bale then he'll be off too.

So...in Levy we trust. But GET ON WITH IT DANIEL.

Blaming bad luck (it doesn't exist by the way) is the talk of losers.

I won't blame luck, we weren't good enough over 38 league games to finish 3rd and get into the CL this season.

We truly can only blame ourselves. We knew that Chelsea were in the CL Final from the 24th April and the following weekend in the early kick off the arse had just dropped 4 points to Norwich and Stoke (we had beaten Blackburn at home in this round of games) leaving us 2 points behind the arse with a game away to one of the weakest teams in the league at the time in Villa and we got a draw.

If anyone is in any doubt who is to blame for us missing the CL they need only look the player, management and owners of our beloved club.

(even though I'm fairly pleased with the season and believe we've done very well) I have to agree with this. We should've secured 3rd, but couldn't do it. The rule, if you ask me, is fine, and I believe Chelsea deserved it the way they came through the games against Napoli, Barca and now the final. The worst thing is that if we had only half their mental strength and belief we would've been 3rd easily. We couldn't really cope with the pressure; they certainly did - albeit riding their luck somewhat. But it's harsh, obviously, as Chelsea's turned around one of their weakest seasons for many years into one of their definite best, while we've got nothing to show for all the promise of the season. Anyway, it took 3rd for CL this season and we couldn't get there. 4th was this year's 5th and that's just the way it is..

Not sure who it was but someone on here a month or so back said their is no luck in football

I wonder if they saw the Arsenal goals at WBA or the game last night

Yes not being in the CL isn't the end of the world but we must go into next season with a stronger - not weaker squad or our 1 CL appearance may become a very distant memory

Maybe off topic but what the hell.......does the winner of the Europa Cup get automatic entry to the following years competition or hasn't the Scousers victim mentality sorted that one yet?

That probably would have been me.

There is no such thing as luck. It's an excuse used when something that happen and you don't want to face the reality of the situation. For example instead of accepting we didn't play we enough to finish 3rd the majority will blame luck as it's easier than face the truth.

As for the WBA game, Fulop was awful it's wasn't some mystical power (called luck) that made him crap he just is shit at being a goalkeeper.

As for last night Bayern were more wasteful in front of goal than we were in the run in. Again poor finishing is it not caused by a mystical power.
