How's that happened then?
Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. They had a strong trio leading the club in Ten Hag, Overmars and van der Sar that all have had to leave their posts in a short space of time (VdS for health reasons, suffered bleeding on the brain) and the power vacuum has led to the club falling apart. Bad managerial appointments, bad signings, no leadership from top, it's all a complete mess.

Ajax fans not a happy bunch today

This really is an absolute embarrassment.

Oh no, we missed out on the league title last year and had a poor start to this season, so we're going to riot and vandalise our own stadium. Entitled morons.

Perhaps ETH from Man Utd will want it if/when he gets the tin tac ?
No reason for him to want to go back when all the support structure that helped his Ajax sides thrive has been pulverised.

If anyone wants a listen The Athletic did a good half hour pod on everything that's gone wrong there.

A decent update on the current problems at Ajax.....now 2nd from bottom.

Just shows how chronic mismanagement can so quickly come and bite you. You don't notice the downward spiral until you're in it with no chance of getting out.

I imagine one party is desperate and the other party is confident things can be turned around. You decide which is which

It might be worth pointing out that they have more games in hand (2) than anyone else in the league although, given their current form, it might not.

"John van 't Schip will finish the season as interim coach of Ajax. The 59-year-old former player of the club will start his first working day on Monday and will also be presented then. Van 't Schip will be assisted by old acquaintance Michael Valkanis. The 49-year-old Greek Australian previously worked with Van 't Schip at Melbourne City, PEC Zwolle and the Greek national team. It is expected that the rest of the staff (Maduro and Said Bakkati) will remain intact."

In the BA (Before Ange) era I didn't realise that "Greek Australian" was even that much of a thing but now they're everywhere.

I looked at that, 2 games in hand that, if won, would put them on 11 points and a respectable 10th position.
But, that won't be happening....
