I dread Nuno thinking: "well, we're depleted so we just won't be able to compete -- time to park the bus," because THAT is a recipe for disaster. I'd rather give Chelski something to think about in attack, rather than ceding all the possession and just hoping for a point. (It's more fun to watch, too, if nothing else.)

Assuming the worst-case scenario with injuries, I guess I'd go:

Lloris
Emerson - Romero - Sanchez - Reguilon
Skippy - PEH
GLC - Ndombele - Dele
Kane

(Obviously, if Sonny and/or Dier are fit, they play.)

Markanday involved with U23 might be a good sign on the injured wingers. You’d think they’d keep him with seniors if if say 2 were out. And I guess we’d also call in Clarke if really desperate.

Amazed at people still picking Alli in the team at number 10. Just what do people see? He does nothing in that position and hasn't for years. It's like sections of the fanbase are still stuck in 2016/2017 and not looking at what Alli is now.

I hate to say it but I'm already at the point where I almost just can't stand seeing him in the team. How long he takes on the ball to do the simplest of things just irks me so much.

Or we're going to use a 352 with the fullbacks offering the width.

? Yeah same really. Just annoying that after Jose (rightly so IMO) dropped him we seem to be back at the stage where he's somehow a guaranteed starter again. Oh well, we'll see how things turn out once both Lo Celso and Ndombele are back in the frame.

Teams that have done well against Tuchel’s Chelsea have played with a back 3. I was surprised we didn’t give it a run out last week against Palace.
Last week Villa played 3-5-2 away to them and pressed them high up the pitch. But for some great saves from Mendy and some fantastic blocks from Thiago Villa would have gone in at half time one or two goals up.
That’s how you have to play against Chelsea If you play a back 4 and sit back in a low block they’ll take you apart( watch them against Arsenal). Unfortunately that’s pretty much how I expect Nuno to set us up which is a recipe for disaster.

Not that anything to do with Newcastle is something to follow but looking at their starting lineup did make me really curious to see some variation of 3 at the back when everyone is fit. Especially as it means not having to rely on Lucas or Bergwijn, although I feel bad saying that about the former as Lucas has been a spark. I guess a 4-3-3 isn't a bad thing if the midfield selection is correct, but we'd probably get more out of Reguilon and Royal and there's good passing capabilities in the middle without as much of a defensive sacrifice.

My XI for Chelsea (3-4-2-1) :

Lloris
Sanchez, Romero, Rodon
Emerson, Hojbjerg,Skipp,Reguillon
Lo Celso Ndombele
Kane

I would start all the 3 from Croatia & play Ndombele as well, with absence of Son, Lucas, Bergwijn.

I would play Ndombele if Son is out We have to some quality in the team to have any hope against Chelsea His backheel for the first goal in Rennes was sheer class We cannot get a result with a team of workman like players We have too many of them

Separate question for regulars at the Lane
My son and I are flying into London in 2 weeks and have tickets for home game v Villa
We arrive at Stansted at 11 am day of game and kick off is 2 pm Will stay with a friend in south London that night
Where can we leave luggage during game?
Do not want to have to go back to Stansted to get it after game
Thought of Liverpool street but we are tight for time especially if plane arrives late
Anywhere to store luggage near the stadium?
Advice appreciated
First time to see Spurs live in 2 years!

Everyone picking Sanchez again. That match up with Lukaku ( and Lukaku will target him) will be painful to watch
18 year old Lukaku bullied prime Vertonghen, nothing we can do about that. Romero had some good games against him, he will help if he plays.

If we play a back 3 I would imagine Davies gets in on the left. Either way I don’t see anything but a comfortable win for Chelsea here 3(+)-0

Davies after another horror show against Palace doesn’t really deserve to be in the squad, let alone starting lineup.

I only hope Nuno has read that too..
