Personally think this is one of very few games where Sissoko might actually be useful so would be incredibly surprised if he wasn't alongside Ndombele and PEH in midfield.

Bale will depend on how many minutes he plays for Wales tonight I would imagine.

I agree with pretty much everything you say. Just not what I’d want do see.

Difficult to know who's likely to be available at present because not are there injuries to consider, but who's tested or been in contact with Covid recently?

Yeah fair enough, I'd agree with Lo Celso and Bale for sure, just not sure about throwing Tanganga back from injury into a game like this. Plus I actually think Aurier has been strong this season.

Lloris
Aurier Alder Dier Reguilon
Lo Celso Hojbjerg Ndombele
Bale Kane Son

I'd still like to see Rodon sooner rather than later but I don't think either of Alderweireld/Dier deserve to be dropped right now.

Not a far as I’m aware, but I see Tanganga as our future right back and the sooner he starts getting matches there the better given that we know the ceiling of both the others.
I can say with about 99.9% certainty that Tanganga won’t even make the squad on Saturday let alone start.

That's our strongest team and it would match up quite nicely assuming they go 433. The only question is the fitness of GLC and Ndombele and wouldn't be surprised to see Sissoko in there to help Aurier out.

Making Tanganga a Full Back would be a waste of what is clearly a huge talent at CB he's getting minutes at RB LB the same way that King, Judas and Carragher etc and even Dier did when they first broke through but he will be a CB. He's not creative enough to be worthwhile wasting his strength awareness and athleticism out wide.

I see him as Sanchez with composure in the long run.

My thought process was that if we're going to see Lo Celso and Bale involvement then I'd rather start with them and try and take the lead and then bring on Lamela and Sissoko to defend a lead rather than start with those. I think depending on Jose plan then I'd be happy with either Lo Celso and Bale starting or Lamela and Sissoko starting or possibly a mixture of the 2 sets.

------------------Lloris-------------------
Aurier-----Alderweireld-Dier---Reguilon
-------------Sissoko---Hojbjerg---------
------------------Lo Celso----------------
----Lucas--------Kane----------Son------

Subs: Hart, Davies, Rodon, Ndombele, Bale, Lamela, Winks/Vinicius

Usually I would nearly never put Sissoko in there, feel like in a game vs City, where we will be chasing the ball a lot and not have it, we could to with his running around effort, especially with Serge likely to start as a RB.
Lucas now had a two weeks break and offers more work effort than Bale. Lamela hopefully fit to bring some energy in the team for 20-30 minutes. Ndombele to replace Gio or Sissoko depending if we need a goal or not.

Based on what do you see Tanganga as our future RB.
I believe his athleticism, good touch and pace, as well as aggression in ball winning, are well suited to the modern right back, while his height is not quite there for a centre back and I fear he won’t get the minutes to master the position if he specialises there until it’s too late.
I can say with about 99.9% certainty that Tanganga won’t even make the squad on Saturday let alone start.
Good for you. As ever, I’m eternally grateful that this thread is for the team we’d like to see rather than being the ‘predict the team correctly or be doomed to a lifetime of ritual morning beatings by angry gorillas with nail bats’ thread.

See, I think playing at full back is a far better use of his proactive ball winning style, pace and energy, and the fact that he actually has a very nice delivery and good touch too. In think at centre back him not being a 6 footer would be exploited and he’d not have the opportunity to contribute to attacks in the same way.

Anyway, enough justifying my opinion, we’re all entitled to one and it’s not so outlandish that it should derail the’ pick your team ‘thread on the first page ?.

Am I alone in not feeling so worried about this game as I have in the years since Pep has been their manager ?.
Jose has given me confidence that we can compete with them probably false confidence ( after all I am a spurs fan )
If he gives me hope I would imagine he also gives the players confidence lets hope so
