No thanks. I want a mega rich arab. Pour his money into our stadium. Secure a multi million pound sponsor not some investment company who want to sell on in the future.

I'm still waiting for RA to get "tired" of his play thing called Chelsea oh and for Sheik Monsour to get bored with Citeh.

They are now bigger than us in terms of global support and marketing appeal.

Chelsea, yes; Citeh, no. All the bandwagoners were already taken by the time City came to prominence. In fact, there's not a doubt in my mind the reason they set up a club in New York was to generate more interest in them as they've likely been disappointed with merchandise sales in the US since their rise. Tottenham and Everton have gained far more fans in recent years in the US than City, especially Spurs. The Spurs fanbase has skyrocketed all over the globe, especially in the US and Asia.

Levy may not get it right with his football selections, but it when it comes to marketing a brand and targeting demographics, the little man is on fucking point.

Why would any Arab buy us when we are known as having jewish links and sometimes wave a flag with the star of david on it?
Why would a Russian Jew buy a club with Nazi/C18/Racist links who sometimes make hissing noises at matches to imitate the gas chambers used during the holocaust?

They are not known around the world for that at least not then. We are known as the yids.

Can anyone explain to me what the NFL have to do with the situation ?

Second this. First I've heard of genuine interest for some sort of collaboration with the NFL.

Mixed feelings about that honestly. On one hand, it'll ensure a decent sized pitch. On the other, gridiron football is hell incarnate on a pitch. While some would argue that might give us somewhat of an advantage as we'd acclimate to it, I'd argue it'd put our players at more risk for their health.

Aren't we discussing the possibility of hosting NFL games at the new ground, with a new NFL team being based here and playing their games at the new ground, even exploring the idea of having two pitches - one for football and the other for that stupid yank game (one being retractable) etc.

I'd imagine it will affect any takeover bid enormously what we decide to do with that option.

First and foremost they set it up to circumvent FFP.

I think there'd have to be 2 different pitches. Grass for us, and they'd roll in a turf pitch for the NFL.

As to what it has to do with the NFL, I'd guess very little, unless Cain Hoy are waiting another 2 or 3 years.

Oh for sure, but there are lots of ways they can generate revenue with their owners. However, with their amount of investment, they have to be disappointed with how their brand has done in the US.

Yeah, a top turf is the only way it'd be feasible, but even so that's good for the grass. You're looking at 6-7 hours of denied sunlight for a pitch trying to recover from a pitch which may have been played on the previous day. Maybe if they did a few games a year and on international breaks, but otherwise it's not ideal.

It will be 4 games a year soon.

Then they may decide on a London franchise.

I'd be very surprised if the NFL ever managed to establish a franchise in Europe. The players wouldn't be happy to play for them, and the players who travel to London for the already scheduled games already have complained about those few games.

How much of our fan base global expansion has been down to Levy's clever marketing and how much was down to having Bale while he became a top 3 player in the world

Are you sure they weren't known around the world for it? I think they're as famous for that as we were for being Jewish back then outside of the UK

They're famous enough for it that Roman would have been aware before he bought it, as a Jewish man he could easily have objected to their fans but the club and it's potential was far bigger an issue and far more important than the behavior of some of their fan base

An Arab business man or play boy prince would not in my opinion decline to buy us because of this tenuous link

You say we're world famous for it but I am not so sure that is the case, outside of a few football ultra firms no one I've ever met from another country who know of us has ever known us as being a Jewish club, In fact I wouldn't be surprised after the high profile news story with the black man on the Paris metro for example Chelsea were more well known for their racist fan base element than we are for having a Jewish link. It's not like we're politically aligned to the state of Israel

It's not like Israel or Judaism is so synonymous with our club that it stopped a bunch of Egyptian fans becoming temporary fans when Mido played for us - I think you're over estimating the extent to which it would put off an potential arab investor

Both are undoubtedly involved, but Levy has clearly aggressively targeted both the US and Asia, and succeeded. Bringing in Dempsey for instance while Spurs were flirting with CL football worked, and it worked very well.
