I once read a article on Teemu in the match day program. From what I can remember he grew in a part so far North in Finland, that there were months of just complete darkness, but then also months of constant sunshine. Obviously dependant on the Seasons in the year.

Tainio reckoned that in his village only 3 of them wanted to play football and they wold go out and play amongst themselves. However they had to wrap up in so man layers of clothing because it was so cold and in Winter when there was complete darkness he only played Ice Hockey.

Also at 16 or 17 he had a trial at Man United and suceeded but turned it down to opt to get his National Service out the way so went off for two years?

I just think it is amazing that he still made it as a premiership footballer and if he had had the opportunities of the modern footballer (Ronaldo, Rooney, Fabregas) of being in a football programme from the age of 9 or 10 what he could of achieved.

ha good someones started one on him.

I love him. I hope this deal is as much him wanting to get some first team football as us wanting him out. Cracking player that let down by his glass ankles.

One of those players who plays better against better opposition. I hope he gets a thunderous applause on his return to the lane.

He did some good matches for us and worked hard for the team. He has been a good free transfer player for us.

Such BLIND people here today....Teemu was a proper footballer and NEVER let us down. He 'shored up' the team on many occasions due to his versatility. I, for one, will miss him and wish to thank him for his short, but valuable, period at WHL. We shall NOT forget your part in our reemergence into the BIG League standings.....Hail Hao; Teemu Tanio! COYS!
