UEFA do get it, that's why FFP was brought in to make sure the traditional clubs can spend in accordance to what they make and keeping the new money clubs at arms length, unfortunately for them Man City totally blew them out the water which meant that a new money clubs could essentially spend their way to the top without any ramifications hence why the old established clubs are trying to take action by joining the ESL before they fall further behind.

And this is why this new CL format is being brought in in a few years because it placates the established teams to the point where they don't even have to finish in the CL places to qualify for the competition which is a load of bullshit and clearly useless, it's not as bad as the ESL but it's still creating a division between the bigger and smaller clubs.
I think the Super League was an inevitable next step along the path that UEFA were already on. Obviously they didn't want their lunch stolen, but for UEFA to start whining about fair competition etc is hypocritical.

Ban them from the CL then you can expect them to push on with the Super League instead. If they're not playing CL they will play Super League instead.

Ban all twelve for two years and they will be stuffed, without a doubt, they'll be reduced to playing friendlies among themselves, perhaps playing each other home and away with a nominal winners trophy and a share of any incidental money they may be able to earn from outside sources like, oh I don't know, maybe, television broadcast rights for example.

Were not getting banned from the CL, we are just choosing to see other European competitions...

Forcing the "rebels" to play in the Europa Conference League would be a harsher punishment than banning them from European competition altogether - detrimental to league campaigns without any meaningful benefit in return.

Those preseason tours/friendlies are very lucrative, but surely they are all uefa sanctioned?
Or they are considered out of season, so don't need permission?

I can't imagine uefa have left a gaping hole in the rules to allow a esl by the back door.

That would mean UEFA has the power to order a club not to play a friendly against another club both of whom are UEFA registered and would infringe on their right to earn money, a restriction of trade on the face of it I think, certainly worthy of a court case.
If UEFA threaten them with an extension of the CL ban they would have to continue with the friendlies which is a bit counterproductive.
The big punishment would be to expel them from their respective domestic leagues but I'm not sure that's UEFA's right and you have to ask would the Premier League really expel its cash cows.
Personally I suspect if they started the ESL with the qualification being the top six in the prem the likes of Leicester city and West Ham United would'nt be so dead set against it.

Thing is with the two teams that have reached the CL final I'd imagine those still involved will be more determined than ever to push for increased revenue streams. The way City, Chelsea and PSG(another semi finalist) are funded even the giants can't compete. Until Uefa do something realistic about FFP this will never go away.

Why should United be allowed to buy trophies and not City?

FFP is just a measure to protect the long standing cartel of utd, real, juve etc. It doesn't help anyone else. I think city and psg raining on their parade is wonderful.

If anyone really cared about actual competitiveness then they would need to look at stuff like wage caps and draft type systems. I can't see any other way.

UEFA are ready to pursue severe disciplinary action against clubs that signed up to the Super League and have yet to sufficiently distance themselves from the project.

Almost all trophies are brought by clubs with the most money. I don't understand why it's ok if it's utd/juve/real but not ok if it's city or psg..

Utd/Juve/Real are rich because they are popular.
City and PSG are rich because they are PR machines to slavers oil rich regimes.
