Unlike LWB, there doesn’t seem to be the same level of quality options at RWB around Europe.

We’ve been linked with Singo who has some really interesting characteristics, but I worry about his final ball. Spence looks really good going forward, but will he be up to it defensively? Porro has genuine top-level playmaking capabilities, but again, there’s big question marks about him defensively. And Maehle has had an up and down season at Atalanta.

I’ve mentioned him before, but I believe Molina at Udinese is probably the most balanced option out there. He may not be as quick as Singo, skilful as Spence, or have the crossing ability of Porro, but he is more than capable in all these areas, and has the defensive awareness needed in a Conte system. Plus he has an excellent shot in his locker. I also believe he has the physicality and aggression to survive the PL.

He’s most recently been linked with Juventus and Arsenal.

Call me mad. Call me crazy, but think Kulusevski could be a great option as a RWB especially if we play 343. He takes up a lot of positions before the halfway line running from deep.

To be fair, Chelsea with a back 6 of Mendy, James, Kounde, Silva, Gvardiol, Chilwell will be a pretty fucking scary prospect for the league
fortunately though, their forwards are an odd bunch who seem to trip over their feet, blaze it over or sit on the bench. Such a weird top heavy team, undoubtedly loads of quality but they operate a very ramshackle forward line imho. Too many samey players and all but one looks like they need to beef up!

he offers too much going forward to be wasted as a RWB, 5 goals and 8 assists in half a season cannot be wasted.

we need to stop trying to plug square pegs into round holes and just buy round pegs instead!

Kostic, Spence and a versatile player like Carrasco (who is obviously able to play more forward, too) would setup our wingback group well. Reguilon and Emerson could leave to just about fund it, too. Good blend of youth and experience, as well.

IMO, he's never going to be good enough going forward to be an effective WB.
I tend to agree but there seems to have been a work around which has made him stand out and play better since Liverpool

Don't disagree, but essentially in a 4 he'd still be playing as a winger anyway and would still push forward. Think people get a bit fixated on whoever plays on the right having to be an actual wing back personally.

I agree. Don't think he's got enough technical ability in his locker to deliver the attacking output we need over a season, but I think there's a possibility Conte may want to keep him around. I can see a situation where we sign Spence and keep both Doherty and Emerson as the extra man.

He's proved to be a very solid defender in this system and with this new sub rule I can see Conte bringing him on to help see out leads, or starting him against teams like City where we may set up to be solid and combative. It also helps that Doherty can cover on the left in an emergency. 5 players for the 2 positions could be a good shout.

I wonder if conte would go for lukaku, given Chelsea would probably sell and need money for other positions (assuming the new owners will not subsidise like Roman did). Could see him playing as rotation for Kane or with him. Not a big fan myself but conte seems to get the best from him

he needs to stay were he is up front alongside kane, he played in a deeper wide role for juve and mostly sucked it seems.

It's a position on a piece of paper or noticeboard at the end of the day.

Inter just announced that Perisic sprained his knee ligaments, I wonder how long he’ll be out.
So unlucky for the guy. Last game before becoming a free agent and able to casually review a wealth of new club offers whilst taking a well-earned holiday, and now no club is going to take a gamble to sign him up until the extent of his injury and recovery become clear.

If he was coming from Inter, for a lowish fee I'd say that might be a shout.
Coming from Chelsea, after what they paid for him, after the season he's just had.......no. Just no!
