Anyone else been following him on Twitter? He has been dropped by BT Sport after calling for Rangers to be pulled off the television if their fans continue to sing sectarian songs.

A BT Sport spokesman said: “BT Sport does not agree with any form of racism and believes that it should not be tolerated in Sport. It is a subject which should be tackled and discussed in the correct manner.

“We did not agree with the nature of the debate on twitter, and which BT Sport was brought into without prior agreement. BT Sport will raise and discuss the issue within its programming when relevant and in an appropriate manner.”

And since then Stan's had a little meltdown.

The words "pot", "kettle" and "black" spring to mind.

The United Kingdom is now white, black, brown, Irish, Polish, Jew, Hindu and Muslim. Your Empire is dead. Time to let the people sing.

I took that as he was joking. I could be wrong. It's hard to get tone from text

He's taking the piss as it's later mentioned that he's going to get deported because Sikhs aren't on Stan's list of those that make up the United Kingdom.

I don't think Stan Collymore said anything wrong in the first instance and BT sport were wrong to drop him.
Secondly yes it is the pot calling the kettle black, nobody seems to mention Gazza beating up his wife though, seems to be forgotten about because he was a great player.

Great news, I wouldn't mind if he ever said anything interesting or compelling but his role in the media (mainly via twitter and TalkSport) is to say something controversial and spark debate. It's something that I hate about modern coverage and I'm glad that he's been dropped by BT Sport.

Unfortunatley it's too late for Robbie Savage to dissapear from our screens but I hope we can avoid Joey Barton forging a career in the media by acting like a tit and shooting his mouth off to get media attention.

Gary Neville & Jamie Carragher have established themselves as good pundits without the need to fly off the handle at everything or call people ladyboys so it is possible (and I hated both as players). The problem MOTD pundits have is that they don't get enough time to add value and insight so they only say generic / cliched views but there's nothing better than hearing an ex pro talk about their trade as it highlights just how much goes into the smallest elements.
