I’m almost as invested in the u21s as with the seniors! Can’t wait for some of these lads to get their debuts.

Sometimes people in here prematurely want players to get their chance in the first team, it takes proper dominance at U21 level to translate to being good enough for PL level. Donley is definitely reaching that level and he’s the perfect kind of player to adapt to the level too with his strengths being his intelligence and technique, those things aren’t going to be easily negated at higher levels. Really looking forward to him making his debut ASAP as a proper Spurs lad!

The Liverpool game isn't up yet either and its usually up a few hours after the game finishes, so I wonder if they are having technical issues?

What a goal from Jamie Donley! With the goalkeeper out of position everyone expected him to launch a high effort from 30 yards out, wide on the left, over the stopper. Instead he curled it low and perfectly around the stranded stopper. Lovely goal.

I guess it was kinda between him and Veliz, and perhaps it was felt an out and out striker would be more beneficial? Apparently Veliz has been really impressing in training too.

Think that would have been a mistake. The crowd were getting frustrated, Liverpool were backs to the wall and full of experienced pros. Veliz had plenty of experience in Argentina. Donley hasn’t played a second of men’s football.

Besides, Højbjerg came on for Maddison and played well.
