They need to start paying better wages, giving a pathway that includes loans abroad to the Dutch and German leagues to develop. An actual plan. We should be moving heaven and earth to keep kids like this.

Pleased to see Jamie Bowden back today had horrific luck with injuries. Was told he’d travelled with 1st team to Goodison on Monday as 21st man. Was sceptical as he’s not kicked a ball for about 18 months but maybe we will see him involved in squads over next few weeks. Out of contract in summer so expect he’ll be released but he’s a decent player. Republic of Ireland have always kept an eye on him.
