Never heard of him or seen him play, but I’m sure he’s brilliant and a bargain, further evidence that employing Patrici is already paying dividends.

No little about him though coincidentally was looking at his wiki yesterday as wanted to know how Japan were doing so well, apparently he is equally capable of playing CB and RB so makes a lot of sense.

Sounds more like a Japanese take-away

Nice bit of casual racism you got there. :banhappy:

Anyway, asked my lad about him, he says he's one of the most followed Japanese players. He's young (23 i think) and plays RB or CB, and can fill in at LB if needed.

We have an overwhelming amount of more or less underwhelming, right footed CBs. We have not one single, left footed, natural LCB. No natural leader either. So, it makes perfect sense that we go for an unproven (at PL-level) kid from the bottom half of Serie A - that has played for a Bologna side that let in 65 goals in 38 league games last season. In Serie A he´s averaging a yellow card every 5 matches - which is not a good sign: if he´s struggling with the tempo and has to foul his opponents in Italy, he will be a dizzy disaster in the PL.

Oh - and don´t get me started on the HG quota. As everyone knows we have an plethora of highly qualified defenders that counts as home grown in both the PL and in Europe... :banghead:

There is only one single reason why we would go for this kid: Asian and Japanese market. Simple as.

PS!
According to Wikipedia he´s mainly being played as right back, not as a CB. According to Transfermarkt he´s a CB that can also play as defensive midfielder and right back. I for one hope he plays no part at Spurs,
