time-wasting in general and time-wasting Goalkeepers in particular

Maybe I'm wrong but I always feel like when we get a few injuries we never have some youth attackers knocking about who can fill in on the bench. Always just stodgy defenders everywhere.

We usually do quite well when there's a pre match partial meltdown on here.

On that basis, we win well.

I'd have preferred 3 in CM to start if Deki's out. At least we'd have an attacker on the bench and a chance of not being overrun by their 3 in midfield. If they've got any sense they'll have worked all week on us having a pivot midfield and how to cut through it.
Whilst I agree about having three in the middle, one of them really needs to be a creative player, which we don’t have

Th worst ever was Forster, but it's ok as he plays for us now.

Lucky he's not playing then (or starting, at least).

That's true but then you'd naturally see the selection delving into academy prospects such as Lankshear to at least offer up an attacking option whilst simultaneously install encouragement that the pathway is there and theoretically should be attuned to what Conte would want.

As I said in my previous post, it's a damning indictment of our youth setup which you just don't see in our competitors.

Conte is reluctant to play players like Bryan, Sarr, Skipp and Spence.

I can't see him playing someone like Lankashear who is only 17.

I have no idea what the issue with Moura is, but we should be looking to replace him in the squad if he is out for a while.

Even if we can't sell him
Depending how bad his injury is and how long he’ll be out for I’d maybe try and come to a settlement to release him as his contract is up at the end of the season.

Bryan Gil… after being touted as out for a loan… now suddenly a match starter due to lack of depth… So a team chasing to remain in the champions league has ZERO attacking options on the bench?! compared to our top 4 rivals, wow, just wow. We really have to improve this squad urgently

He's clearly making a pointed reference to the powers that be but whilst i'm a strong advocate of Conte, it's unnecessary stubborness on his part to completely leave any attacking options as void.

As of right now, there's little point in having a youth academy at Tottenham Hotspur.

Yeah - I kind of hope we figure out a way to let him go back to São Paulo, which is apparently where he wants to go.

Yeah it’s not like three of our six forwards are injured or anything is it… ??‍♂️ Last two transfer windows we’ve signed forwards that would normally be in the squad. Stop making a bloody meal out of every little setback.

Fuck me the petty entitlement on display today is astounding. Injuries happen, we aren’t the first team to ever have injuries and we won’t be the last.
Whilst I do agree with this, it’s frustrating that when we have so many injuries,
you would think this would be an opportunity for one of our attackers from our youth setup.

Seems Conte does not rate anyone enough and isn’t prepared to risk giving one a chance.

But neither Richy or Kulusevsk’s injuries are long term.

People need to chill and stop flying into a blind panic about every single thing that happens.

We still need more options on the bench though imo.

It just takes just one injury to the front 4, to be left with only Gil (who Conte wouldn’t even mind sending out on loan).

Liverpool are a perfect example of maximising their attacking depth.

Big miss with Kulu out but lets hope we have a Lennon/Routledge scenario with Gil coming in and having a stormer to start a great run in the team.

Interesting to see how this group of CB's perform (our best 3 IMO)

COYS!

Frustrating that Kulu is unavailable. Don't really see what more could have been done with the bench. Scarlett and Parrott are on loan getting regular minutes, that will serve us better long term than having them available for a game like today.

It does highlight the importance of the January window though, with the I juries we have we probably have around 15 players Conte will use available. We have to improve that in Jan. Regardless of the lack of attacking options today, we are good enough to win if we approach this game in the right way.

I would have personally played Sess at LWB and had Peresic as part of the front 3 just so we had an attacking option on the bench and I do worry about Gils lack of strength. Anyway, hope he proves me wrong and plays a blinder. COYS.
