Good result, and great to see Bent score.....I still believe that he can produce the goods if given a chance. It was a good message to send to Juande...."Let me start a few matches!"

The only negative in today's game was Aaron Lennon. Saw plenty of the ball but I can't remember him doing anything with it.

Good win but the goals came too late. Moments before the goal I thought it was going to be 0-0.

Good win for the lads. Would of been disappointed with a draw. Chuffed for Bent, good assist too.

Frustrating at times, specially AL, Pompey weren't really up for it I thought, maybe thinking of Wembley ?

Woodgate superb for me, even lifts Dawson to a higher level.

Job done & 3 points.

Good solid performance, hudd & zakora controlled the game and tempo. Good to see Bent score, he looked so confident after his goal.
I so wish we had Hutton and Woody at the beginning of this season, things would be a whole lot different.

The Barcodes next, I honestly think we are not far off giving someone an absolute thumping....please let it be against Keegan and co.

yep the only downer for today really, it is a big problem, he got himself in so many promising positions but they all ended up in the same result, poor crosses

Ramos was clearly frustrated and not long later he was subbed, the commentator ( Pleat lol ) rightly guessing he would go off

when Ramos says some of the players are playing for their futures, I wouldn't be surprised if Lennon is one of them by now, Ramos will not put up with his lack of end product for ever

He has already lost his England place due to his end product, its the only reason I can think of why he is not in the squad again

very happy for Bent though, having a major impact on the result :)

do you think these balls are a bit heavy for little a.l?
Good point! He must have realised how it looked to the watching fans, very frustrating. Still deserved the (slightly muted) applause when he was subbed for lots of hard running and keeping the Pompey defence on its toes.

Pompey parked the bus and we should have been better at getting past it. James can deal with those lazy looping free-kicks and crosses all day long, and our corner-taking was uniformly atrocious (again! :bang:).

The urgency that O'Hara and Bent brought on was well needed. O'Hara shoots on sight as soon as he gets the ball. All of sudden Berba is trying a swing at a shot instead of a flick/trick/stepover/backheel/stumble, and Benty is there to nod it in. A Benty burst, O'Hara just shoots and its two. Simple.

good performance for the most today, looked good and had alot of the ball, only problem was in the final 3rd and alot of poor crossing! didnt create enough good chances untill the end, though Pompy not wanting to attack much and stick men behidn the ball didnt help with that

Pretty good all round dominant performance i think.......we should control more games like this. There was only one moment when it hought Pompey were gonna score (after Robbo's hesitancy) where as normally there is atleast 3 or 4 per game!

Great substitutions again although i must admit i was a bit surprised by them at the time. Very very clever tho, made Pompey come out and play a bit more and we opened them up.

Special mention for Bent who showed exactly why we paid good money for him. He hasn't had the convidence to run at defenders until today but when he did he looked good.

Woody is also immense.....

We were good, but lacked the creativity needed to get past the Pompey bus. It was only when they were tempted to try to attack at the end and commit more players forward that we managed to break through and score.

Bent was very good. Right place at right time for his goal, and went round Hreidarsson like he wasn't there to set up O'Hara. Is he finding his place in the side? Definitely shown his worth recently.

I'd like to start a fund raising campaign so we can buy Chimbonda a left foot...

But no serious complaints today.

good/very good performanace & result - we were the only team playing football out there - more anti-spurs from Sky - ridiculous bias - the way gray & parry were going on you'd think it was an equal game with both sides deserving something - pompey got what they deserved - zilch

oh and well done Bent - might keep the boo boys and moaners quiet for a while - the fee wasnt his fault!
