nurse. nurse cardiac paddles on standby please. damn we're slightly off it, and chelsea are doing pretty well. The posts seem to be supporting spurs today. Very cagey match. A long way to go yet. They'll get tired of pressing 2nd half.

Fitting that the players walk off amidst silence, just about sums up the lack of life in most of that half. Only really the VAR and that last minute cross worth talking about.

I'll always take a boring game if we win but I'd like to see us be more dynamic in the second half. If we can get another that would be a nice cushion heading into the second leg.

Think we need to up it now, we have the energy in the tank to press them and push them back as they'll tire after their first half efforts.

Agree.

Need to get Danny closer to Hudson Odoi too, formation needs a tweak to get an extra body in there, Eriksen and Alli are getting caught a bit

Strange half. Chelsea squeezing the pitch and we’re finding it difficult to get anything going really. Son and Dele barely involved. Need our midfielders to get on the ball more.

At the same time Chelsea look a bit toothless without a proper striker on the pitch.

Why wasn't their goalie sent off for the pen? Anyone?
Attempt to play the ball, and pen awarded.

They don't want the Red/Pen if a player goes for the ball. If it was outside the box, he probably would have gotten red.

That shot/cross would have been something that would have gone in over the last couple of years. tight game I think we can do this

No fuck it, he deserves to be booed and I'm doing it every time he gets the ball.

Why? I’d boo him all day long for being a Chelsea prick but the reason he is getting booed isn’t because of that

Chelsea's press is definitely disrupting our game. Need to get some balls down the channel for Son or tweak the approach.

Tbf Chelsea haven't had that many chances...

We are so slow moving the ball around though. I've lost count of the amount of times over this season where we've had a free kick or throw in just inside the opposition half and it's ended up going back to our keeper in 30 seconds or less.

Winks is meant to be good on the ball, so why is Eriksen dropping deeper all the time? We need him a few yards further up to thread the passes through.

Somehow 1-0 up, because quite honestly I don't think we have played very well so far. In fact for long spells its been quite a slog for us.

Possession has barely got out of our third the vast majority of the time, we are finding forward passes an impossible task mostly, and resorting to hoofing it long. Without the ball Chelsea definitely trying to be another team that stretches the pitch and exposes the narrow diamond, and whilst they're not exactly cutting us open at will thus far they have got us scrambling quite a few times and have hit the woodwork now twice.

Simply must step it up in the second half, if we are to take the first leg advantage.

Very cautious from us at the back. Toby, Eriksen, Sanchez, and Trippier favouring playing backwards when there has often been time or space to turn or pass into.

I'm sure Chelsea's pressure will drop in the second half but those players need to be a bit more progressive.

We looked at our most dangerous when we played long balls over the top and had Kane and son run into them into spaces. Then we stopped doing this....

Not a bad first half but we were not great, let's hope we improve in the second half.

Dele bit anon, sub him for Lamela, shore up the mid and add some vigor and energy

Assuming we sell Dembele we desperately need a new midfielder. Winks and Sissoko are looking tired and I don't blame them. Our passing has been horrendous today; slow, sideways, and not hitting the target enough
