Another player who was better before he started playing for England.

We could really do with another player who is good at faffing around with the ball on the edge of the box and occasionally hits a decent strike.

Koeman rates him so low he's even played McCarthy in the 10 role with Barkley on the bench.

Levy hasn't got a brilliant track record of buying players from Prem sides in the Jan Transfer window over recent years. Other chairmen can't stand his hard-ball tactics, especially at 11pm on the last day!

In fact, I can't remember that many decent signings happening for any of the top clubs over the past few seasons in January.

If January is anything like the summer window the bar will be set way too high for us to go after anyone like Barkley.

A player with great skill, power and energy, Koeman the magnificent is far to busy fluffing his own ego to improve him, Poch on the other hand might turn him into a top player.

I still find it hard to believe he's only 23, seems like he's been about for bloody ages. And like said by others, the lad has so much talent, when he's on form he looks fantastic, but there's a big question mark dangling over him now - in another thread, i compared him to Lennon; exceptional for a teenager, but he's not improved significantly, so those he was previously better than are now catching him up. Lennon found a new level when he was ~25/26 and managed to bust out of the plateau he was on. Perhaps Poch could find that next step Barkley needs, who knows?

I don't think he's what we need at all. Overrated, never works back, selfish on the ball, doesn't get his head up and can't play central midfield as he doesn't have the discipline. Fair neigh he hits a great shot from time to time but I think with his build he will pile on weight with age and get worse and worse. Give me someone like rashford or lingard. We need a player who can beat a man, super mobile, run off the ball and can go both ways.
