I so want both Maddison and Richarlison in my team.. but who shall I ditch? Saka, Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Grealish? I guess most of you will suggest Grealish but I like the thought of having a differential in my team. Not just straight template like everyone.

I've gone with this to start. I've decided that I can't pull for any Arsenal, Chelsea, or West Ham players to succeed and feel good about it. We'll see how far that gets me but I'll have more fun and less negative feelings.

Terrible opening for me, only just beat average. None of my 50/50s came off, on another day I'd have had Maddison and Mitoma and cruised to a good score.

Long way to go yet thankfully.

Score? I was disappointed (slightly) with my 74.

I got 86, happy with it but....3 of my midfielders did sod all. Should have stuck with Mitoma.

GW2 though I have no Liverpool players, so fully expecting to slip down massively.

Solid start, sitting 7th in the AON league. Couple of issues in my team ahead of next weekend, TAA, Maddison both doubts. Got 2 transfers though so should be able to work around it.

Strikers are a real pain this year. Other than Haaland its difficult to decide who to have. I haveJackson who looked promising first 2/3 games but got a feeling he will be dropped soon, Pedro at Brighton had a good first week, then benched, then came back in and has done nothing.

Nunez might be the one to grab if Klopp sticks with him up top...

Annoyingly Son and Richarlison are listed as midfielders for us. Midfield is so congested with good players.

One of my biggest gripes with playing this game. You know a lot of these players are forwards just classed as midfielders. I've come back to it after a few years away and a lot of the rules are annoying when compared to NFL FF.

The system is very outdated, it should have evolved by now to allow for more points earned/points lost.

Like defensive midfielders, absolutely no point in owning one, they rarely score and can only pick up a point for a clean sheet. It should be broken down into different positions, defenders, fullbacks, defensive mids, attacking mids, wingers, strikers. Each one has unique point systems, so a winger can earn points for succesful crosses/defensive midfielder for each tackle etc.

I have been playing in Fantrax head-to-head leagues for years now.

Standard leagues award points awarded for tackles, interceptions, blocked shots, aerials, key passes, dribble, shots on target, etc. This gives all players some value - beyond just goals/assists

Under what situations would you be willing to pay the points penalty for extra transfers?
If the team needs it I would always consider it. If you believe the player you're bringing in for the -4 is going to at minimum pay it back in the same week, but it saves you making the move a week later, or you can make a different move off the back of it I'd always be considering it.

I used to have a rule where I wouldn't take a points hit for GK or defender as they were less likely to score big points like midfielders or strikers, but that's not the case any more.

On the other side, the latter end of the season, depending on what I'm playing for the consideration changes as each extra point really matters.
